Who is John McPhee?
Sergeant Major (ret) John McPhee served a distinguished career in U.S. Army Special Operations for over 20 years, retiring in 2011.
John has spent his adult life in Special Operations and Special Mission Units. He has trained countless U.S. Special Operations forces, thousands of International Tier 1 Operators and Special Forces around the world. He is one of the handful of operators with over a decade of combat having served in multiple theaters from Bosnia and South America to recent war efforts in Iraq and Afghanistan.
He is a Master Instructor in all aspects of special activities, missions and operations. With over 10 years of private special activities consulting John is a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in: Special Activities, Operational Preparations, Limited Signature Operations, Reconnaissance, Singleton Operations, High Threat Dignitary Protective Services, Extreme Long Range, Designated Marksman, Advanced Precision Rifle Marksmanship, Combat Marksmanship, Live Fire CQB/CQC, Advanced Pistol Marksmanship, Advanced Carbine Marksmanship, Aerial Gunnery (Rifles, Shotguns, Aerial Personnel, and Vehicle Interdictions), Mechanical, Ballistic, and Explosive Breaching, Freefall Instructor Programs, Infiltration/Exfiltration Techniques, Ground Mobility, Unit Pre-Deployment Training, and Research and Development of: Soldier Systems, Weapons, Ammunition, Thermal and Night Optics.

12 years in Afghanistan as a contractor...ROADKILL.... had my lower leg almost burned off and skin grafted, when some one saw it they said I was Roadkill, it was over heard and it stuck. Could have been worse.

I was called chihuahua. I was the smallest guy in the platoon and I would fight anyone. Also, if my platoon sergeant or squad leader told me to go hump someone's leg I would have to comply because of my nickname. That got me in trouble a few times.

We had a thing where we named vehicles , saw swamp pig written on a tank . So we wrote on our vehicles , my buddy and I. Wrote wagon on ours. It actually helps locate people or rally points , etc.

We had this expensive 6 day FTX with like 50-60 volunteers acting like villagers etc, and there was a guy who played the #1 HVT and I was my team leader on an unrelated operation. Long story short I spotted him on a road near a building and decided to take him out at the expense of two of my men. So they called me "Rambo" for like a month afterwards lol.

In basic/AIT at Benning I was Skeletor. Got the name "Head" in Iraq during a clowning session. Even civilians at the bars called me Head lol.
