Like for me growing up in Nairobi as a kid I never heard any of my friends Identify themselves from any tribe....we played and enjoyed ourselves as kids and we enjoyed our childhood.. when I became an adult that's when tribalism became real because there were people who had to identify themselves that they indeed come from a certain tribe to me honestly it was quite annoying but it's so deep in our society....

Tribalism is destroying Africa. It is used by the whiteman to devide Africans and rule Africa in order to remain undeveloped. Yet in European Countries, they don't identify themselves in tribal line. For example, that is why you can not get Kibira, Kariobangi, and Korokocho type of toilets in the whiteman land.

I think ethnicity or tribalism can be positive too. Our local languages need to be preserved. We just need to fight and slay the negative ethnicity or tribalism.

One thing I wonder is why when you are filling out your ID paperwork, they even ask you to name things like your clan, and I wonder why does it matter?

Kikuyus never get rid of their mother tongue. They don't play in the sand box well with others. The only way to get rid of tribalism in Kenya is for the govt to own all the land in Kenya. If no Kenyan owns land, that means Kenyan will be free to live anywhere in Kenya.

im on of them but their superiority complex is annoying rooted in ignorance of their own culture which they float around shamelessly.Reality is pre-colonially our culture was very primitive.

I think ethnicity is not bad but there is a need for people to learn how other communities live so as to get rid of the ignorance and ethnic stereotypes that we have come up with

JSO aliingilia CT sana 😄😄...skin cream...rabid.... CT couldn't leave without gun shots I disagree with JSO. 'Deleting' our ethnicity wouldn't make us less tribalistic. Social engineering to ensure we accept each other regardless of where we come from is what is required. If TZ did it so can we

English is not a Kenyan language. His pronunciation is correct; which is a good thing. If he spoke Kiswahili with a British accent, then we can fault him. Si mnatucheka wakisii tukiongea Kizungu na tweng yetu 😅

The real shame is his colonial mentality regarding mother tongues

@reemdawg5980.. I can't quite wrap my head around your gripe about this guy's accent. This gentleman is perfectly okay. He has an accent which is readily understandable, crisp and doesn't tax one's ears. He's speaking one of the many varieties of the English language and listening to him is certainly a pleasure. He communicates quite clearly. While I agree that some of his ideas on the concrete subject under discussion by the panel may be debatable, I nonetheless think that it is definitely unfair to tackle him for his English accent.

@@triplebeans4159 If you cannot speak good English, stop criticizing Sibi Okumu. And for you narrow thinking, Sibi Okumu is a Samia and not a Luo. In your naivety, you assume all "Os" to be Luos. How sad.

Problem is corruption and no civic education in kenya ..your mother tongue has nothing to do with those major problems..I've been in 🇺🇸 for 25yrs I still have a kenyan accent when speaking to my bredren,so are my Spanish or Caribbean friends.....🥱...just another topic all together...everyone I know who speaks different now,had some inferiority complex on their identity..
