Finally after all these years

First ever time I played Takistani Life was in ArmA 2. I was banned in probably less than an hour. I got banned immediately after me and two other dudes blew up one or two of the checkpoints.

A2 takistan life revolution was awesome. Had cops, Opfor, terrorist, civvies. Wild server , so good what a throwback

From my experience on this server, the admin-team is incredible childish. One admin banned 81 players on the first week of them launching and they were scratching their heads as to why the population of the server was RAPIDLY declining. The owner neglects the server too. Pretty bad. They lost their BLUFOR / UN command a solid 4 times in a row. Shit server. Some funny moments though for sure.

Random ArmA vet rant: It's always been clear to me that Takistan Life has draw, but I feel that the servers which reboot the concept over the years continue to fail for otherwise obvious reasons: Poor administration and nepotism. Because the same people such as Maverick, Mason, etc. wind up in some top-level server management position, and the TLR community knows them well for regularly bullying others, perpetuating toxic behaviors, and abusing admin tools to cheat, the servers they install themselves in inevitably will die, as each one they've been a part of has before. Simply put: Hours of RP planning and prep would get wiped out in seconds by these clowns on a _daily_ basis. I speak as somebody who's worked alongside them a bit, and has been subject to dozens of unfair circumstances at their hands. I've watched them in the act hundreds of times, ruining somebody's day, and laughing them out of support. People don't forget, especially when notorious players keep their names, and as a result, they attract constant DDOS attacks, hackers, and mass RDMers. I would surmise that the careless and blatantly abusive nature of certain administrators brought every other staff member's conduct down in quality as a result, leading to habitually rude, impatient, and unprofessional "support" behavior across the board, and thus community relations quickly spiraled out of control... multiple times. Instead of stepping down from their roles, apologizing, or having an actual adult do that for them, these people stuck around way longer than anyone welcomed. Entire Cop/UN overhauls can be credited to a desire to construct each faction in Taki Life to fit [i]one[/i] group's tastes, rather than by input from regulars or the military(vets) they were loosely basing things on. Arbitrary rules were meant to protect the highest ranking of each faction which naturally was also the top-level division admin, enabling them to use busted and overpowered equipment, basically unbound by RP, supplemented by admin commands to give an unfair advantage. Top-level scumbaggery. They would single-handedly undermine the rules and point of the RP server to treat it like their personal Domination servers, metagaming through TS, using admin-equivalent of ESP, and ruin everyone else's fun - regularly. It was a problem, but these were friends of the server owner. So, it wasn't _their_ problem. I had only discovered all of this much later, as I went on to other Life servers, where things are often more structured and fair. The people running them might have taken notes if they'd been involved in cancerous communities in the past, to know better than to blindly protect somebody for fear of losing a friend. Takistan Life could survive if we'd just stop bringing back the same awful human beings to run things. It's the only ArmA server I'd ever played on where admins would regularly spawn in F-35s only they were allowed to have, to go on a 3 hour killing spree on anyone with any sort of bounty, or anyone on the opposing factions. That'd be Maverick, by the way. The writing was on the wall and that server shut down 4 months after I left it. Lesson: Being a jerk has long-withstanding implications, often detrimental.
