As an officer of 30 years I would dispute any member of staff offering to put money in a prisoner’s bank account to get someone assaulted. They didn’t need monetary persuasion they would just do it for notoriety

The next CCTV frame shows James not holding Venables hand. It could be that he wasn't comfortable with these two boys from the off, but they knew just what to say to James - "Don't worry, we'll find your mum.." So sad.

@@PBL187 it’s no surprise he’s fucked up. He’s been institutionalised in young offenders institutes and adult prisons since he was 11 year old. They don’t even normally put 11 year olds in YOIs, they go into secure kids homes until 14 but exceptions were made. The entire case could have been handled better but was instead subjected to political-media circus and public demands for vengeance against two little kids. If both boys were removed from their families once social services were first aware of them this killing would never have happened. But’s it’s easier to hate two 10/11 year old boys than take a hard look at the sick society we have created that turns kids into kid killers.

I remember this as a kid and how sad it was/is. That poor little boy and his parents, what these lads did was absolute evil. I don’t agree with the death penalty but their identities should never have been protected, their faces should be out there, the public shouldn’t be paying for the safety of these pricks. If they are out then they should be living in fear everyday that someone is going to kill them, like how they tortured and murdered that innocent two year old.

He was banned from owning anything that can access the internet but there is a picture of him and his girlfriend that she has taken in what looked like a cafe or something and there he is, sat with his full concentration on his smart phone. He just does not give a fcuk! I agree re the death penalty although sadly we will never see it. I reckon tho that he will die due to one of these beatings. He's always being ghosted out of one jail and taken to another. Everyone knows who he is and what he's spent his life doing.

He is literal scum and in my opinion he deserves death for what he did back then and since, Thompson deserves death too for his part in Bulger's murder, or if not that then they should both be in prison for the rest of their lives at least. How they ever got released for the Bulger murder is beyond me, their age at the time should not have mattered, they should have never been released for what they did

Before he went back inside he was working at a company in Birmingham, nobody new who he was, the company I was at had a maintenance contract for the building, I can’t believe I was in the same space as this monster, it came out and he had to leave, he got into an altercation with one of the women who worked there, he told her you don’t know what I’m capable of, he was also in a relationship with another staff member, she had to leave the company also.

Now aged 40, Venables has reoffended twice since being released in 2001 under a new identity. He was sent back to prison in 2010 and 2017 after he was caught with child sex abuse images on his computer.

I remember when Venables & Thompson? I think the other boy's name was, when they abducted James Bulger. Later when I researched a bit more and learned exact details, along with the video of the abduction at the mall, I was stunned. Shocked that children could perpetrate such a cruel and callous crime against a baby! How!? What possesses someone let alone 2 PEOPLE to do such heinous acts against another! The UK justice system isn't like America's. You're a minor and commit a crime, when you're released you are given a clean slate and a new identity! Then I read that Venables had been arrested again later in life for CP!! He ended up the POS he's been since a child...

To be honest, I think that guy's just an attention seeker.what happened to that little boy was an act of Evil which should never be forgotten.hateful acts towards those 2 that done it won't bring the child back.The only ones that have the right to be hateful is his family not strangers who had no connection to the child.I also believe all those evildoers will reap what they sow and will answer for what they have committed.

Code of honor among inmates. I was in a holding cell with a woman who let her 27yr old boyfriend SA her daughter from ages 6-9yrs old. This girl wasn't put in population during the 6 days I was there. But, couple years later she saw me on a city bus and recoiled from me & said "Please. Please don't. Don't attack me." I said "I'm sorry what? Do I even know you?" She said "We were in Moundsville together...everyone beat my ass when they found out what I was there for." "Which was?" I asked and she refreshed my memory. I was withdrawaling when we were in that holding cell together years ago & I never would of recognized her. She had an ankle monitor bracelet on and showed me her homescreen's picture on her phone: a picture of her & her daughter- her daughter who she claims "seduced her bf" but "she wasn't mad" and "[my daughter] acts WAY older than she really is Haha". She didn't learn her lesson and she's lucky I didn't want to risk being arrested for beating up her slow, nasty, pedo-ass! I was on my way to work.

The strangers that you mentioned may have had no connection to the murdered child but they were afraid for their own children then. Remember how every mother started keeping a closer eye on her child? When a child gets kidnapped and killed at random like James Bulger was, other parents panic that their own child could be the next victim. It is pretty much like when an adult serial killer is on the loose; people are told to keep a low profile or not venture out alone at nights until he is caught. The trouble with the crimes that target random people is that ANYONE can become a victim.

Venables got housed in my area in Scotland and within a day everyone knew who he was he got the shit kicked out of him but he has a panic button on him at all times and pressed it before getting a kicking then about 30cops showed up within minutes and I assume he got took to another area, both there faces are known its only a matter of time til someone gets one of them and shoots or stabs them unless theve been moved abroad
