We’re drowning in information and starving for wisdom. Cowardice is preeminent now, when what we need is courage. Courage is the most important virtue as it’s upon courage that all other virtues are based on.

It's all fine and well to discuss the madness of the current day (a wonderful discussion by the way), but where is it going? What's the end game? (IMHO only a war or famine will correct course and bring back sanity...). Would love to hear a discussion on this.

Dear reader, at the outset of this piece I would like to state that I have great faith in mankind, I believe that all of mankind in their hearts of hearts are decent. That said mankind is in a terrible mess! So what is the solution? First we have to know the problems, and then know the source of the problem So on the problem side let's start at home. Domestic violence against women! Divorce. Suicide. Drug addiction both prescription, and illegal. Homelessness. House rental unaffordability. Mortgage unaffordability. Lack of respect for indigenous people, and their culture. Wars with all the devastation they cause. Two hundred million stateless refugees. Millions dying from starvation. Millions working for below subsistence wages. Millions of people who feel disenfranchised who feel betrayed. Right wing dictators with calcified minds. Left wing dictators with calcified minds. Well meaning philosophers whose philosophies have calcified into ideologies. Global warming with all of its consequences, floods, drought etc etc. All of these things have one source, and that is state of mind! Or should I say a state of mind that does not allow for a person to experience emotional ease. Now we know the source, the question is what to do? Well we are so far down the rabbit hole we must deal with the symptoms, and at the same time deal with the source, or the lack of quality of the source i.e. our thinking. As things stand people are victims of circumstance, but the problem is that people don't even see that. Most people see life as something that just happens to them, and do not question that, so their experience of life is a sort of outside in experience, and that they have no hand act or part in determining the quality of their experience of their reality. A question has to be asked at this point are people victims of circumstance or are they innocent victims of their unconscious thinking? Does this have to be the way? No! Can we improve the quality of our lives? Yes! How? By improving the quality of our state of mind. So how do we do that? Start by asking this pertantent question of ourselves such as, if it were not for the faculty of mind would I be having this experience I call my life? Having answered that question in the affirmative, no I would not be having this experience I call life, ask yourself this question! Am I up for claiming ownership of my experience of my life? Am I up for taking responsibility for my life? What is the advantage of this? Well it shifts a person from a position of a victim of circumstance to an active participant in their own lives. So what is the advantage in any of that? Well it gets one out of the blame game! It also prevents one from slipping into bitterness, and begrudgery. Which in of itself leads to emotional ease, And that allows for a kinder gentler experience of life. That in turn allows us to be more present to our own emotional well-being, and by default more present to the emotional well-being of others. This is at the heart of building local communities, and global communities, it's as simple as people looking out for each other. This is what will bring about transformation and with that transformation there will come a state of mind whereby people will live in contentment. This will mean people's sense of identity will not be linked to what they are, ie their possessions or status in life, instead their lives will be imbued with a feeling of gratitude for life for life's sake. Now please do not misunderstand me even in an enlightened state people will still run to gauntlet of human emotion. So in times of joy there will be laughter, and in times of sorrow there will be tears. What I am writing about is not denial of human emotion, it is about understanding it, and embracing it by owning it, and taking responsibility for it. With a little understanding, and a little kindness born of that understanding we can all live peacefully in the cradle of humanism. Kind regards. Eamonn Leonard.

@@eamonnleonard9162 Absolute bollocks. You say don't play the blame game. Why the hell not? Don't you think someone is to blame? And then you say we should take responsibility which is a funky way of taking blame on yourself. I'm not to blame for any of the things you mention. We don't need the ordinary people to have a heart half as much as we need those actually to blame to be hung by their necks. Common folk can be as nice as they like it won't change most of the issues. You seem to be missing a massive chunk of reality that we are being shat on by specific people for specific reasons. They are hijacking our sentimentality over the issues you mention , even when they don't really exist. Like fuck am I blaming myself or other common people, that's what they want you silly, all is love, arse. So you can stick your faux virtue signaling and beanbag and jossticks advice which is deeply unhelpful given the reality of the situation. It's a time to be a thorn in the side of those actually to blame not to be a soppy manipulable wet self flagellating pillock that's missing the plot. . disregards, J

John is a very well read guy, and I do appreciate his journalist writing and integrity over the years. But John's understand of what a Democratic society is and how the Judicial system, Economy and Debt works is fundamentally flaud and misleading to you his listeners/readers. Why? As all said bodies relate not to the man/woman, but to your "legal person" (your own corp'oration with your name in ALL CAPS as evidanced by your Birth Certificate, ID card, Social Security card and Bank card) that you use to vote and do commerce in the public. Why? Only company can do commerce/contracts with other company, not man, hence your legal person. Unraveling the mystery of government/corporate power really is that simple. Until he relaises this (the penny drops), he will continue to fail in public courts cases, and interaction with public government bodies and financial institutions as he has no standing, common law talk or not. Standing comes from you the man/woman taking control of your corps ALL CAPS Corporate NAME (your public Trust Estate) in commerce (law merchant), as in being the Estate Beneficiary, not its Trustee (the one who pays/has to perform or go-to-jail). For over 100 years plus, Commerce, District/Superior Courts and Government have nothing to do with Common law. Just get that simple point into your heads. All bodies have their own dictionary of what terms mean including the commercail business called Law/Legalise Government/Judiciat system. Best thing John can do is get a Black Law Dictionary and look up the words: person, legal person, individual, child etc, as he will see time and time again in State Acts and Statutes, they refer to a corps (a dead artifical fictional entity), no diffrent than a company, just on paper, like your Birth Certificate. Success all in your learning
