Fun Fact: in an interview John Witherspoon admitted that his scene in the movie "Boomerang" was only supposed to be about 30 seconds but Eddie Murphy laugh so much and enjoyed him so much that he actually had them extend John's scene and cut out other parts of the movie to fit it in.

He was never really the star in the movies but he stole the show every time and left us with to many memorable moments to count rest in paradise to a true legend

Fathers like Craig's would make the hood so much better. All they do is come home from work, have their cold beer, talk about their day, make sure their kids stay out of trouble/had a good day at school, help them with their homework, play some football/baseball in the front yard with them, then go to sleep. That's not much to most but to us (boys) that didnt have that growing up, that's all it takes to not only feel loved but to know that pops is simply there for you. I've been on a John Witherspoon video binge all day today .. To say that his passing is a saddening one would be a total understatement. I was introduced to him through watching him on The Wayans Brothers since it first aired on the WB. Even though the show was called The Wayans Brothers, the show wouldn't have been as good as it was without John's participation in it as pops. Low key I think he was the star of that show and practically anything else he was on. This world ain't never gonna be the same without you pops. R.I.P. 😥
