John Witherspoon spoke to VladTV about working on Boomerang, and how Eddie Murphy asked him to be in the movie after filming had already wrapped. John explained that the move led to animosity from Paramount, who Witherspoon won over with his ad-libbed lines for the movie.

The fact that he came in, on the fly, an adlibbed an entire scene that wasn't even supposed to be in the movie at all... and it's still talked about, shows comedic greatness. Props to actress playing his wife too, for keeping up.

Most of the younger generation probably know John from the 'Friday' franchise. House Party was the first film I saw with John Witherspoon, I was about 8 and his scenes always cracked me up.

I'll never forget watching this movie for the first time on VHS, I was 9 or 10yrs old when Boomerang came out. Imagine keeping a VHS tape on repeat during John's dinner table scene I laughed 😂😂😂😂so hard with my cousin, we almost got sent to bed. John had that same effect on me when I watched "Friday" for the first time; That kitchen scene was hilarious 😂🤣😂🤣with Ice Cube. I miss the 90's
