Saw him in Frankfurt, Germany. He had a large backing band but the highlight of the concert was when he did Annie's Song and This Old Guitar with just him and his guitar. Unbelievable voice.

Just incomparable..... I had the chance to see him live in the 90's when I was traveling thru Reno, NV and didn't stop when I saw his name on a hotel marquee. Then a couple years later he was gone and the chance of filling an item on my bucket list was gone. If nothing else it taught me to never pass up the chance to do something I really want regardless the cost. I grew up with his music and even today he's my favorite singer.

I had the pleasure of co-producing a John Denver benefit concert in a National Guard Armory in Salem, OR. In the late 70's, to benefit the no nukes movement. He was stellar, from his kindness and grace towards me and my partner, and most significantly, to the audience. Moms, daughters, grandmas, and some men too! He was on point (a perfectionist on pitch) and then some in his performance. Yikes he was good. I love the songwriting and that tenor voice as good as any angel. But to witness his grace and talent live on the stage I'm managing - that's as good as it gets!
