dedication bro that’s why wayne used that word for his albums. something i need to work on. we won’t always be inspired to go out and do stuff so instead we have to be disciplined enough to and be dedicated to what we do

This was a whole Vibe in 2000s, they weren't trying to build skateparks. They were trying to build skate spots.

That's a good point: skate parking does seem to be closer to the ground and I think that's part of what's brought me back into the sport. Coming from the 90-00s era of skating, it was all about big sets, big gaps, big rails, or bust. Now, people seem to love either the steez in a simple trick or something more tech.

Hey John, I have a video idea. I just watched “Elf” for the first time and there’s a scene where Michael gets a skateboard from Santa. Santas book says he wants a “real huf skateboard with high 145 Thunder Trucks, 52mm spitfire classic wheels and bolts”. Thought it was funny that they actually said real parts and pieces. You should ride it and see if the kid had good taste. As usual, loved the video. Happy Holidays John!

Oh whaaaaat? That’s awesome

@@JohnHill It’s during the scenes when Santa’s sleigh has crashed in Central Park! The book is only shown for a second or two but you do see the board after.

Skateboarding has got to be one of the hardest sports to be consistent and good at! Coming from a snowboarder that can hit 90% of rails and double backflip and more in the park! So fun to watch!

I love skateboarding so much. I want to be this good one day but dont have the time, money, or health insurance, and i started way too late. 24, skating for 2 years, broke my collarbone twice. Id be too scared to get hurt to skate at a skatepark. Too scared to try an ollie with no insurance. Just broke my collarbone for the 2nd time 2 weeks ago and hit my head. Watching guys like you skate so well is the closest ill ever get to skating video games irl. Im extremely envious when i see guys like you doing grinds down and up rails and jumping down stairs. Keep inspiring.

Always interesting seeing how park development has improved over the last twenty years. Parks built today are so sick and the one my city built us back in 2001 when I was 17 is sooooooo dumb, lol. Also, I think you mean "disproportionate," but I was following and see how goofy some of those obstacles are.

that final 50-50 was impressive, fun video my guy. as someone from small town middle america i WISH my town could get like a quarter of this park, currently it has absolutely nothing. a long time ago it had a flat rail and 2 wooden quarters and they called that a skatepark, that was like 15+ years ago though

I know this spot, that's the skatepark right next to Dorsey. John coming here to the hood is something I never expected but I'm glad. John, if you see this, you should go skate at Rowley skatepark in Gardena. It's a smaller skatepark in terms of size, but it's a great park for lines and ledges. It even has the flat bar you were looking for
