I'm 37 and I've been listening to him since birth for real. Mostly because my great Grandparents used to listen to him all the time when I was younger. We lived in the Chicago Projects back then, may they rest in peace Essie May & Thomas Collins of Mississippi.🥰🥰

THAT SONG WAS PLAYING ON THE RADIO STATION EVERY DAY, SOMETIMES FOR MONTHS AT A TIME WITHOUT STOPPING, YOU KNOW WHY IT'S BECAUSE IT WAS A HIT RECORD, JOHNNIE TAYLOR ALWAYS SANG ABOUT REAL LIFE EXPERIENCES, SONGS THAT PEOPLE COULD RELATE TO, I LOVE JOHNNIE TAYLOR AND EVERY SONG THAT I'VE HEARD HIM SANG.

@@patriciapage4860 This does Not make a lot of sense ,Are you saying that you have a baby by Johnnie Taylor,If you do,I don,t see Why you would post it, Btcause Johnnie did NOT Want Any Outside Children ,He Only Claimed the Children between the Two Wives ,He cared less about the Thots he hit & run with and Nothing at all about their babies they had,So I guess if that’s what you mean ,you out of luck like all the others he Never Wanted..

JT was a favorite from my childhood. He sang lead along with Sam Cook for the Soul Stirrers, a gospel group. He always brought the show with him! It was just second nature for him to take the stage, and pull you into what he was singing. That band? Red scalding hot! Love this!!!!

Great song. We used to cover it in LA Blues Clubs. Black Speedy our keyboardist and tenor brought us the song. Speedy had great diction and style. The audience hung on to every word of the story. Song is so underrated but you need a real personable and powerful frontman to pull it off. This video is a real treat. Johnny is amazing as he casts his spell. Thank you for sharing this!

In the early eighties at a niteclub in Inglewood California called "Bishops Five Torches" was where Mr.Johnny Taylor once performed. I helped with the lighting for the little stage we had. There were several great entertainers that came through. Mr. Bobby Womack, Mr. Tyrone Davis, Charles Wright and the 103rd street band, just to name a few. R.I.P. Mr. Johnny Taylor.

They laid that out! I've been a JT fan since the days of the Soul Stirrers. The stage was where he was at his best and he sang this one like it was his own. Bad, bad man! In the good way! The girls, the horns and the band did their job to perfection! Stellar performance! Miss old Johnnie, I don't believe there'll be another...
