The final 9 laps at Rockingham Speedway. JB holds off Mark Martin to earn his first and only Cup Series win. Post-race is sourced from the SPEED channel with interviews with Johnny, Mark Martin, and Kurt Busch. This was great for Johnny Benson fans like me. An under-rated driver with three Series Championships - 1993 ASA National Tour - 1995 Busch Series - 2008 Craftsman Truck Series. Grand Rapids natives and Berlin raceway are very familiar with his success.

This was one pf my favorite wins. I loved Johnny, and watching his win live in '02 was incredible.

Ya it's kinda sad this would be his only win in the cup series though, imagine if he joined a team like Joe Gibbs or Hendrick

Those Pontiac Grand Prixs were cool race cars. Love when the underdog wins. Hope Johnny B can win in SRX.

That generation's 2 Gentleman Racers battling for the win. Definitely was one of the most popular races & race finishes of 2002. 😊

Johnny was the greatest driver to have never won. I love Allen Bestwick calling races. Beats the crap out of Mike Joy.
