I can never get enough Carson. I think a lot of people, especially my age (64), miss quality entertainment like Johnny Carson’s Tonight Show. Thanks for keeping it alive today.

Being a musician myself….the bassist in the orchestra was riffing the shit out of the opening theme song. Love it!! So up-front in the audio mix. 👍🏻

I love listening to these old episodes and *man* this has to be the weirdest episode! Tony Randall was charmless and that comic was decent but kinda like Tony Randall. I still listened to the whole thing so thank you very much for uploading this!

I love that the original WIDESCREEN broadcasts... are restored from that awful 4:3 TV format from ... way back in the 70s...
@dhpbear2Ай бұрын
It was *not* an 'original widescreen broadcast'. This is NOT how it should be presented!
@ModernaireАй бұрын
@@dhpbear2 I KNOW! I'm being you know, comedic about it, I dislike how all these great Carson shows were ruined by converting them to 16:9, instead of keeping them original TV ratio 4:3. Oh well, the internet.

The 'comic' Tom Dreesen speaks WAY too fast and I miss most of the punch lines! He isn't very funny anyhow. SKIP thru it...

Too much monologue. People watch the show to see and hear the guests not listen to Johnny's lane monologue.
@NetCerpher7 ай бұрын
Glen, have another Ft8ch. For 30 years he ruled late night TV. People tuned in for “The Johnny Carson Show”, not for 6 minutes of some potentially lame guest like Orsen Bean. In fact, millions turned on Johnny expressly for the monologue, and then turned it off and went to sleep. Glad you were not around to offer suggestions to the man.
@michaelstusiak59027 ай бұрын
Actually many watched it for the monologue.

Carson isn't funny. He's OK but he's no Steve Allen. Or Jack Benny. Hell, he's no Henry Morgan.
@mr.blackhawk1427 ай бұрын
Carson was the KING of late night TV for a reason, and MILLIONS of viewers will disagree with you. He is actually a better STRAIGHT man for comedians like Dangerfield, Robin Williams, etc. He is (was) successful mainly bcuz he lets his guests be funny!
