I note that Johnny doesn't really look at Vince in the eye, to people from other cultures, it is absolutely not a sign of shiftiness or rudeness. On the contrary its a form of respect as in Asian culture it is rude to look/ maintain prolonged eye contact with an elder or with someone you respect

Yes, it's true. Especially when the gang members look into each eyes directly, that means they are going to challenge each other verbally or physically.

Johnny's testimony moved me. I was heavily involve in narcotics. Got busted once, but I'm still in trap til this day. But I promise myself I would stop once I sold all my stuff. Last week my friend got busted, few minutes before that happened we was chilling at the spot and I decided to go home to eat. By that simple act I think God protected me and he wanted me to change. I got a lot of friends who are dead and in jail, but that ain't scare me. Your testimony really touched my heart, Johnny. I would apologize to my dad in person when I get to New Jersey I live in the Philippines btw. I don't wanna be in that life anymore. I don't wanna be a burden to my family anymore. Pray for me 🙏🏻 God bless you, Johnny.

Listen bro. I’m from SGV not too too far from Johnny. Grew up there in the 90’s. That dope was everywhere got it’s hooks in everybody. Meth. Getting busted just to get out and get busted again. The one piece of advice that saved my life….”if you hang out with dogs…your gunna get fleas” I had to cut ties with a lotta people I loved and grew up with. I moved FAR….my daughter was born and that was it. IM DONE. IM GONE. you will never get clean when all you know is people who are fighting the same battle you are. Like crabs in a bucket. Every time someone is going to get out You will just drag each other down. BE SELFISH for once in your life. It’s a big world. Move. It’s hard bro. I get it. But if you hang out with dogs your gunna get fleas. Good luck. God bless.

I’ll tell you wouldn’t saying he’s amazing in the 90s if you got robbed by him and beaten up or shot. So…Lesson learn. Avoid walking near gangs because they don’t grow up until late 30s. Boys during that era will kill many innocent people for no reason and if you were that victim, you wouldn’t think he’s a saint or say wow that’s a great guy. Even after admitting to guilt, many gangs already took many innocent lives and destroyed families.

As an Asian who grew up in NorCal, we were always cool with the Hispanics, but I heard in SoCal, Asians and Hispanics didn't get along. Growing up in Sacramento, I worked with a lot of Hispanics. Bought guns and drugs from them, vice versa. Hispanics had their own gang wars with each other, and Asians had their own gang wars with each other. Not much of a race war in my neighborhood.

I'm a Chicano from Florida. Never was into the gang stuff, thankfully it wasn't around me. My dad never beat me, because he wasn't there for most of my life. His absence made me so angry growing up, I didn't care about school or anything. As I got older and spent some time with my dad, he told me about how his father used to severely physically abuse him. It didn't make the pain from his absence in my life go away, but it helped, because it showed me that my dad had been a better dad than his dad was to him at least. There's few things more sacred and essential to the development of a young man than his relationship to his father or father figure. I think so many of us can relate to the ups and downs that comes with that relationship.

Being Asian immigrant growing up from Norcal/Socal in 90s, pretty much grew up with all Hispanics all my life since my parents brought us to USA 30+ years ago. I'm not gang, nor most my Mexican friends and families. Even my parents speak more Spanish than English because we've worked along side Hispanics businesses all those years serving thousands of Hispanics per week at the market. When I grew up, I worked in hospitals/clinics where I worked with lots of Hispanics and saved/helped lots of Hispanic youths/people/gang members/families...etc probably over 15years of all that professional work in communities. I've helped people of all ages, and abilities...most of it was all Hispanics. Majority of folks were all super nice and friendly! And most people whatever colors were all just friendly and non violence. Everyone just living their life, nothing like what you see portraited in movies and social media. I love hispanics friends/communities/culture and everybody else. We just got short life on this earth. Most people are good and not violence! God bless!
