Imagine the fact that you're the one who caused the finger of your ex-husband to be cut off and admitting it on tape and then sitting in a court room lying about it. I could never. The thought of lying under this immense pressure and circumstances is just beyond me. Amber doesn't have a soul.

Take it easy, he's just having to not give to one side or the other without putting his own evaluation upfront. He could say right out yeah the bottle smashed his finger, but he is only able to understand when he treated Johnny for the injury. Plenty of people go to the doctor's for a broken bone or smashed body part and what happens. The patients lie. Oh no, I fell off my dirt bike and the bike came down on my knee. What really happened was you were with your friends and you tried the double back flip and didn't land it. Thats what were seeing here.

"If he didn't look at the hand, why is he here?" The only question that matters, my guy. Also, let it be noticed that their chief medical witness was someone who has no connection to this case whatsoever. Let it also be noticed that later today they brought in a psychiatrist who *didn't even meet with Depp*. Seems the best medical support Heard's team can get is an educated guess.

There's an audio recording when all this went down in Australia. Heard is hysterical. She says multiple times I'm sorry. She wants to go to the hospital to see depp and Johnny's people are telling her he wants he to leave. His doctor and nurse are there among others. They give her medication to calm her down. AH is saying she can't leave because if she leaves it'll be over. She knew if she didn't stay to make nice he was done with her. @bandit6272
@bandit6272 2 жыл бұрын
@@paytonyoder1260 I agree. The idea of "ruling out" an otherwise plausible mechanism of injury based on a disagreement between the "photographed" injury pattern and the "described" mechanism is a pretty gray area. I just can't justify the level of certainty he's expressing over such a nuanced topic. Especially when he *never examined the patient.* I can't stress how important that is. Most doctors I know would never even opine until they saw the patient and examined them. For instance, when you see movie/tv doctors look at the body of someone with a gunshot wound, and they examine the "bullet hole" and immediately come up with "9mm handgun" or something similar....that's Hollywood. It's nowhere near that cut and dry. In fact, pathologists will tell you that even after careful physical examination (which the witness did not do), they are rarely confident enough to get specific based on the wound alone. If they find the bullet, then that's different. That's the giant red flag. He "ruled out" a plausible mechanism based on photos and (second hand) Johnny's inexpert description of the details of how it happened. I'm not buying his testimony AT ALL.

Okay as someone who has a degree in forensic science, I do get what he’s saying when he’s saying in regards to the bottle and mannerisms. There are certain characteristics that specific things will cause. The weapon may be a vodka bottle, but the injury that occurred may look like something that happened with a knife, bottle, or a club. But using patterns that knives and clubs leave against the injury that doesn’t match what a bottle leaves specifically is how you would determine what kind of weapon was used such as the club and vodka bottle would leave identical injuries, but one would likely leave glass behind or a pattern on the bottle (like groves in the bottom) may cause additional injury. I don’t know who this guy is, but if he’s a forensics witness he should be knowledgeable enough to know what DIDNT cause the injury and what is MOST LIKELY to have caused the injury. Pinpointing which weapon, specifically, made the injury beyond that could be difficult or challenging depending. He’s using language that is confusing and he’s not explaining it in a way that makes sense.. which tells me he’s either shit at his job or he has no knowledge about forensics and is a joke. Which comes as no surprise since it’s someone obviously skewed towards amber. Edit: apparently he’s a physician. Not forensics expert. Explains why he’s bad at this. Edit 2: watching further on, it’s clear this physician is a whole joke. Knowing there WERE broken bottles.. yeah. My initial point stands.

This doctor is right the finger wasn't sliced off it was crushed off. What he has established is that Amber threw that bottle at such great force that it pinched the tip of Johnny's finger off not cutting it off then the bottle still had enough energy after ricocheting off of Jonny's finger and counter to then be broken by the next hard object it impacted against. This all happened within milliseconds so Johnny's hand may have been in motion as he flinched seeing the bottle flying at him so his hand may not have been exactly in the position he said it was in. It takes a little bit of time for the pain receptors to read message that the nervous systems sends them, so the sound of breaking glass and the feeling of pain are nearly instantaneous tricking the mind into thinking the finger was sliced off instead of crushed off. Whether the finger was crushed off or sliced off is irrelevant. Johnny and Amber where in a room together where she threw a bottle at him that caused him to lose the tip of his finger.

As I stated in my previous comment, I was thinking it was a crush injury, based on the fact that the image of the finger (I have only seen one, which might not be definitive) because it looked to me like the tip had split, rather than been cut off. I'm not suggesting the tip flew off on account of blunt force, but that it was crushed so hard the finger "split" open, leaving the nail intact.

thats the thing with round objects they are not easy to predict so to say that it would be unlikely is ridicules. its based on physics quite belivable that a drunk person that had as stated by the british bloke around 1-2 wine bottles a day throws something in a weird manner and the fact that the bottle most likely was not empty impacts the trajectory alot and the fact its round makes it fucking bounce easier and then glass shatters diffrently all the fucking time only the same way if you pre heat certain areas and make sure it shatters were you want it to will it shatter the same way. then a wittness that was most likely high and drunk not remebering exaktly how he moved his hand when his wife throws a bottle at him is also not a fucking stretch what i do find unlikely is that a creative and passionate guy that paints, plays guitar and acts would damage his own finger. if he wanted to make something worse that would be belivable he could have gone for like anyother body part that was less important to him and his passions...

@@toddydog3 I've been in the ER. I've seen plenty of crush type injuries. I've seen amputations, I've seen the shock and internal injuries from large crush (pinning the body), I've seen smaller crush injuries as well. A crush injury covers a wide range of injuries. It comes from a force "crushing" a body part or entire body between 2 objects. That's all. The tip of Depp's finger was amputated, the distal bone fragmented. What you see now is a scarred fingertip from surgical reattachment. Side note, one of the most interesting crush injuries that came in, involved the index finger, the skin and much of the muscle had been completely "shucked" but was still attached and hanging from the base of the finger. No broken bones in the finger or hand, and he was still able to move the boney part. It was pretty cool, from a medical standpoint. Really tough guy, he thought it was cool too. Excellent orthopedic surgeon performed a great job, he kept the finger and eventually recovered fully; with a gnarly scar. -When the finger was pinned between 2 extremely heavy pieces of equipment, he jerked his hand away, this causing this type injury.

He kept saying the bottle couldn't have done that and during the examination for Heard he kept saying it couldn't have happened the way Johnny described. He said it was a pinch injury and not a bottle, but the whole time he never considered the trajectory of the bottle. He kept saying it came from the top and that was impossible. This surgeon stated in his description that his decision based on “what is expected.” There are always freak accidents. My ex also ran a residency program prior to being a medical director . I’m not in the medical field . However, I do know most doctors doing this kind of work (which is to make money from testimony) are beholden to the person paying them . If in the hypothetical scenario that JD was lying, that would make Amber's lies all the more weird. She told the court that he smashed his finger off with a phone, but the acting coach in her deposition said Amber told her he smashed it off with a bottle. So if JD was in fact lying, why would Amber also lie? Doesn't make any sense. She can be heard in audio recording's apologising, there was Ben King's testimony about Amber saying "do you ever just completely lose it at someone". There is also Whitney's testimony in Jennifer Howell's declaration that Amber told Whitney she cut off JD's finger. All the evidence suggests she cut off his finger. This one expert witness's account is not really credible because: 1) He wasn't there. 2) His opinion is based purely on how JD described, which, because JD is not a doctor, may have described it in a way that is not completely how it happened. The doctor testifies his hand was flat and that JD said the glass shattered and smashed his finger, whereas it is known that his fingers were over the bench, and the impact of the bottle is likely to have caused the crush, not the glass shattering itself. Also not to mention it was found in the bar, there were broken bottles, and there was blood everywhere. Doesn't add up. Came for an easy paycheck.

I LOVE THIS WOMAN! She is a fantastic lawyer. Ambers lawyers suck! This "expert witness" doesn't make a bit of sense. Just because he went to school doesn't mean he is a good Dr. Wouldn't the huge heavy bottle hitting his finger on the bar be two opposing surfaces like he is talking about. I don't think this guy wants to admit he was wrong originally.

The argument is not if a bottle can cause a crush injury. The argument is that a bottle causing a crush injury would damage the nail bed as well. If the finger was sideways on the bar, then the nail wouldn't be between the bar and the bottle, but the testimony states the palm was faceing down, which puts the nail between the bottle and the bar. That's the problem with the situation, and why the doctor doesn't believe the stated cause of injury.

AH's lawyers are less skilled, to be sure, but they were also fed incorrect and incomplete information, and needed to remain zealous advocates in spite of not having a case. My opinion is that the hand was gripping the edge with a natural grasp where some fingers not touching the surface, meaning raised fingers. This would make it such that, if the bottle came from an off angle, clipping the one fingertip. The bottle followed through with it's momentum and then hit a surface and shatter like an "explosion". I think the expert took the "explosion" a little too seriously and assumed it would create secondary injuries...what if the bottle exploded away from the hand? We know if the bottle hit the hand at the angle described first it would be deflected and then hit a surface hard enough to shatter the glass. It's not like JD's fingertip made the bottle explode on initial impact, otherwise we'd have a much different and shorter case about JD basically having explosive touch superpowers.

I broke my foot when getting out of bed. I didn't fall, I just put my food down weird and it twisted to the side. I didn't even know it was broken, it just hurt for a while but I thought I just sprained it since I could still walk and move the foot normally. Next day it started swelling and after going to the doctor they put it in the cast. Also broke my arm right above the elbow while arm wrestling about two years ago. I had a really long operation because the bone literally shattered into dozens of smaller pieces and they had to take all of them out through the shoulder, a cast for a 2 weeks, and then when they took it out the arm muscles were literally frozen solid and my arm was perpetually locked into a 90 degree angle. It would literally just hang in that position without any support at all, as if something invisible was holding it. So yeah... I was extremely freaked out when the doctor told me he never saw something this bad happen after just 2 weeks in a cast and had no idea how much this can be rehabilitated. But, fortunately after a year of extensive rehabilitation every single day, my arm is like brand new and the only thing I can no longer do is wash my back with my right arm, just doesn't bend that far anymore. In the words of the physician who helped rehabilitate me "I got lucky I can use it for anything more than measuring 90 degree angles". So yeah, it's scary how easy it is to break your body by doing seemingly innocent things.

I can tell you that an orthopedic surgeon is for the reconstruction of injured joints. Not trauma to tissue around a joint. He is NOT a plastic surgeon. This doctor would have had no knowledge of what the severed area of the tissue looked like after the injury and can only testify to the condition of the joint via X-rays.
