She says that this performance with Johnny Hallyday still stands in the top three of her favourite performances. No wonder. I do wish she had more songs that displayed her "rock" side. It's so fun to see and hear her sing this way.

The way your face lights up when Lara Appears on the scene says it all. That smile, as if you see a favorite person! Yup. That pure joy. She does that. Her whole personality is somehow about joy, and the fact that this much talent is packed in a so humble and sweet human is just... so good. One just can't help but love her.

When they were training for this song, the legendary jonnhy was so impressed by Lara that he said "ok...i'll better be good... ( the day of the concert )"

I forgot to add that this duet was first performed a few month before in the most attended music tv show in France executed on a yearly basis and called “les enfoirés”. Johnny was so impressed by Lara that he immediately asked her to join his upcoming concerts as a special guest and reproduce this duet. They had perfect chemistry on stage. Johnny said from Lara “she is me as a woman. She is giving it all, she tells a story and she is not afraid to what she looks like”. They had plans for more collab together but Johnny’s young wife became jealous of their chemistry and denied him to partner again with Lara.

Some more info about this very special duet: * The song: this is an anthem song for him, that he used to sing alone. This was turned into a duet for Lara. The story of the song was created in reference to a very famous old french classic movie: Le Jour se Leve (1939) where the main character is barricaded and surrounded by the police, having killed his girlfriend. Here this is turned more into a Bonnie and Clyde story where they both are preferring to die than to surrender * Lara: Lara was not that confident in fact. She said later in an interview that she had never done such a big stadium performance before, and being with the legend Johnny was intimidating. She said that she touches him a lot in this perf because this is what the story tells (she is in sync with the words) BUT ALSO because this was a way to get comforted and protected by Johnny * Johnny wanted her to shine, this was the 3rd night he was running his concert - yes he was famous enough to fill 3 times a 80,000 stadium - and so 3rd time they did this duet. In the first 2 times, there mic were balanced equally and you could see he is an absolute monster, a fabulous powerhouse. He asked to change the kic balance to leave more room to Lara: she has reverb and echo effect here and he doesn’t. This makes her shine in an incredible way and overall the duet is much better that way. - the rain: the people attending here were in the stadium one week before for what was supposed to be the first occurrence of the concert when the show was postponed due to the rain. Sonit was rescheduled one week later and became the third occurrence and guess what? The rain was here again. Johnny refused to cancel and they performed the whole concert under the rain. It became legendary also for this reason. Kudos to the audience being outside on the grass and under the rain as well. Ahhhh Tee!!! You crack me up😂. Yes it's a French thing lol. Both of them were very famous here in Québec where I live, which is predominantly french speaking (like me). I must admit of being guilty of not following them as much as they deserved. Lara was a hell of a performer and what a voice.
