The Buster Keaton gag is a notoriously dangerous stunt. Most film production insurance companies won't allow or won't cover actors trying to recreate it, but I guess with Knoxville and the rest of the gang, the insurance companies know what they're getting into.

If an actor wanted to try the stunt out, they should have the wall on the ground first to mark (spray paint or a flag usually works) where the window lands and then shoot the stunt later so the actor knows where to end the scene. That insurance companies can greenlight the idea without issue.
