I did not know Johnny Shines and his music, looked him up on Spotify and it's awesome. Thanks for bringing these great musicians to our attention, not to mention your fantastic lessons!

You are an excellent teacher. Now I know exactly how Johnny Shines uses his thumb. Thank's a lot for this very good lesson! I wish you all the best. Tom

Just to say, that I have never achieved so much and enjoyed the learning process. I am a lefty playing right (for years going no where) but the lessons have given me so such confidence. I started off thinking the lessons were a step too far but soon realised its doable. The fingers are starting to think for themselves and I am feeling the fret board is getting smaller and less daunting. You have given me access to something I thought was out of reach. Cheers!

Same here--Lefty playing righty, and the "right" decision for me, but for decades I thought the right hand would never be able to keep up, till I soldiered on. There is even a theory on the Internet that whoever invented the guitar (lute) was left-handed, so advantage us!

Fantastic playing and I too love Johnny Shines. For myself I can no longer be bothered with trying to sound exactly like this or that bluesman when doing songs, I truly don't see the point, did they see blues that way? I'd love to see the man doing these videos give people some ideas and pointers to Blues so people can go off and make their own stuff.

Ah, Daddy.. Don't hurt me. It's too big. Don't worry baby. It's not that big. It's just a little parlor guitar.... Okay Daddy, if you say so.... Oh yeah, baby! You know what old Daddy Stovepipe likes!! Barre chords! Humbuckers! That's the kind of Scrooge I like! You wrock, Mister. Thanks for what you do. Have a great new year from Maine.
@daddystovepipe

+drumstik I'm not playing a parlor here but a Gréven FX, which is a 0000 size, which is quite big for a fingerstyle guitar. So baby, it could hurt a bit you hear!

Thanks for reminding me; I'm gifting a 100 year old golden oak handmade parlor guitar to Randy Schartinger who's going to rebuild it on youtube. Also, I'm doing my 1st channel so move over! I've been teaching my whole life, and you're as good as they get. I sure do appreciate it. I know how hard you work at it. Thanks. Do some Ry Cooder. :)

Una pregunta maestro , ¿Las cuerdas son metálicas o de nylon ? Gracias
@daddystovepipe
@daddystovepipe Жыл бұрын
cuerdas metalicas. puedes reconocer fácilmente una guitarra de cuerdas de nailon. Tendrá un clavijero ranurado y las clavijas de afinación serán siempre de plástico blanco.

+chaps First determine what you want to play, then start looking for that style on the internet. If you want to play country blues, then check out Stefan Grossman's Guitarworkshop and Homespun Tapes, plenty of blues playing there.
