You are not stupid, it was really brave to share your personal feelings and problems with us. I myself suffer from serious anxiety disorder which has practically ruined my life. I am too in many ways like Starlight, i am afraid to death at socializing with people or failing at anything really. It has had me isolated to my house and prevented me from achieving anything in life. I think this episode is amazing as it gives people a lot to think about. It makes us think about our flaws and problems and how to overcome them.

Johnny, your not alone, I have a mild case of Asperges (I think I spelt that correctly, and no, this is not a joke, I literally do not know how to spell the word), and it wasn't stupid of you, in fact I think it was very brave of you to come out with this. As for internet trolls, just let em try, come on I'm ready for them and I will stand by the side of anyone the troll's think they can target without repercussions, including you Johnny. On a final less serious note, I would once again like to make the request for you to react to the musical fan series "Princess Trixie Sparkle", seriously Johnny I think you would really like it, and episode 10 is due to come out soon, like in the next month or so, so pls pls pls, do a reaction for the series, you won't regret it, I promise.

I feel like you've hinted in a previous video that you have AS, and hearing you come out and say it does not change my opinion of you. You're a good guy, Mr. Fire Flame. Keep doing what you're doing.

i love you and support you 100%. don't apologize for revealing this rue part of yourself. you're amazing just the way you are! so maybe you don't feel comfortable or confident with certain kinds of social interactions. that's okay and fine! for example, i dont think i could ever do on-camera reactions like you, it takes a lot of courage and confidence to get to that point, and i really admire what you do! don't worry about haters or trolls. you've got a lot of friends, moondancer!

Hey, friend, don't worry. You are not alone. I also have it. And it's really hard to me to make contacts with people. Sometimes even with my friends (which i have like... two). And i also really love Starlight. She reminds me of myself being so alone, sitting in my room with my pony-plushie in my arms and watching this show. I just want to say, that we love you, no matter what. You are a good reactor and i believe that you're a good person. *hugs*

I know how you feel. I have Asperger's Syndrome, too, as well as OCD and generalized anxiety disorder. I actually like this episode, though, because I can relate to Starlight's anxiety and confusion about the lessons.

Johnny, you're great as you are. I am not very good when it comes to social activities also. In groups where everybody clings with each other I am usually the one sitting for his own. I tried to change that but as time went by I learned to accept it. You are not alone, buddy. Take care!

Hey, you’re actually quite the contrary from being stupid. Pretty brave for doing what you just did and even more so for doing what you do; being a reactor and making those little skits you do. Plus not just doing that, but actually be pretty cool while doing them! So, if anything, I probably admire you a lot more than I did already. And actually, opening up to people, like you just did, takes a LOT of courage, so give yourself some credit! And yes; while there are some trolls and annoyances out there, at least from what I’ve seen within this fandom, people here are much more empathetic and kind natured than others. And most would probably stand up for you if needed. I pretty much never comment on vids… unless I feel compelled to do so because I feel that I should or it would be right, sooo… well, here is my comment. Plus I’m quite shy hahaha. So keep doing what you do, and keep being awesome! Though you could… you know? Be… I don’t know… 20% cooler, maybe. Kidding ;) You’re cool enough already :]

I hadn't figured it out until now, but as soon as I realized you were going to reveal something, I immediately knew what it was. I think you're the third reactor I've seen so far who said the same thing about themselves after this episode. And so many other people in this fandom have "admitted" to it as well over time. Guess the haters aren't totally wrong, huh. I have Aspergers too. But I don't really see the problem about that anymore. In most cases, I never would have guessed you and those other people have it if you didn't say anything. And I heard some people say the same thing about me. That just shows that Aspergers, even though it may make you act slightly different or understand things differently, isn't such a big deal. You can learn to adjust and hide it rather easily. Which I think you did. I have to admit though, I still don't feel entirely comfortable saying this about myself here. Eh, whatever. I don't feel like deleting this whole comment.

Orrrr it just shows that many people who's been diagnosed with Asperger's syndrome (or who just _think_ that they have it) doesn't really have it and are perfectly fine with their mental health? :P Many "mental illnesses" of today was perfectly normal human behaviour a decade ago. Did you know that the World's Health Organization (ironically called as such, because they have nothing to do with health) put _shyness_ on their list of mental illnesses recently? :P Take any normal human behaviour, name it with some psychological scientific jargon mumbo-jumbo and attach the word "Disorder" at the end, and presto! You've just invented a new mental illness you can add to the list. That's how modern psychology works. And now you can sell drugs to your new patients and make a lot of $$$. And if the symptoms of your patient doesn't quite fit your definition, that's not a problem either: just tell them that they have a "mild" form of it ;J
@RubberyCat
@RubberyCat 8 жыл бұрын
Bon Bon Sadly, that assumption may be fully correct. Sure, one may have problems, but it is a good idea to start getting able to handle it, preferably without drugs, and in some cases those problems may even be assets, helpful.

Good point. I've thought about that a lot myself. I've even had a therapist who told me he was convinced I don't actually have Asperger's, but a Social Phobia (which, to be honest, also sounds like just another one of those things). I personally never had to take drugs because of it, I've only had a few therapies and social training groups which I or my family never had to pay for (though the offices that covered the cost sure put up a fight, and someone did profit from it all in the end). In those groups, I met a lot of people with the same diagnosis as me, and many of them had much stronger symptoms and could barely function by themselves, while others seemed to act just like any other person on the street. So in a way, I don't really mind having a single word to explain my (at times) odd behavior in a rather simple way. On the other hand, it doesn't really help when the same word is used to describe such a wide range of people. Every single person is different.

PoniiAndii Yeah, there _are_ people with serious mental problems and brain diseases, I don't deny that. It's just that these days too many people just _think_ that they're mentally ill, or some doctors incorrectly diagnose them as such (because it's so easy to call something a disorder and there are literally _no consequences_ for doing it incorrectly). My sister once have problems in school, because she have troubles with reading aloud in a class and she was making a lot of spelling mistakes. So they ordered her to visit a shrink, and the shrink diagnosed her with dyslexia and cross-lateralization or something like that. She was very depressed about that, because she thought that there's something wrong with her brain :P But I called "bullshit!" and I took her under my wing (metaphorically speaking, because I don't exactly have wings :q). First, I knew that what they usually call "dyslexia" is just when someone's brain haven't learned enough correct patterns of spelling, or got some wrong patterns from other people who spell wrong. And since I knew she loves fantasy, I gave her some cool fantasy books, like "Lord of the Rings", "Harry Potter", "The Witcher" etc. so that she could have some fun when secretly training her brain with correct spelling patterns ;> And guess what: a year later she was reading all right, and she was doing 50% less spelling mistakes than before! :) She went to the shrink once again for a control visit, and the shrink was dumbfounded to see that all the dyslexia is gone :P A MIRACLE! :D The cross-lateralization was gone too, and I bet it's because she made her driving license, so she had more opportunities to train her brain in distinguishing left from right. Same goes with the supposed Asperger's syndrome: if you have felt socially awkward at any time in your life (and who doesn't?), they will use that to their advantage to tell you that you have Asperger's syndrome, because it's so easy. Everyone has such problems once in a while. But it isn't what you _are_ or what you _have_ (though they will do their best to make you believe that), but what you _do_ sometimes, in some particular situations. And you can learn to behave differently. Many people are socially awkward just because their brain haven't been trained enough with social skills (e.g. if they didn't have many friends in their childhood, they had savage parents etc.). But whatever reasons there was, it's not a death sentence: our brains can learn! They just need some social training to get better at social skills. And social skills are definitely something one can learn. They're not innate, because social norms aren't innate either: it's something people established themselves as norms. I was shy and socially awkward when I was a child, but I have done a lot of progress since then, by training myself and a whole lot of psychological work with my mind, and now I'm "normal" ;) (if there's such a thing anyway). Also, even if you really have some syndromes of some "disorder", it doesn't automatically have to be a disease. It only is so if it affects you or people around you in some negative way. E.g. I once heard from some person that she's got Asperger's syndrome because she's afraid of needles and rough noises, such as vacuum-cleaners or other loud machinery, and that she's got OCD because she likes to keep her room clean and ordered. I said to her: "Gurl! You don't have Aspergers! You're normal! Pinching needles through your skin is not something that feels good, so I would be surprised if you _weren't_ afraid of it! :P Loud noisy machines? I hate them too! So do I have Asperger's syndrome too? And how is the love of order and harmony a disease? Maybe to those who like chaos and ... DISORDERs so much :P" Unfortunately, she seemed to LIKE the condition she had, because she was mad at me that I don't believe her about being mentally ill :P (Who would WANT to be mentally ill and WHY? I don't know. But what I do know is that there's more and more such people recently :P And I feel it won't end well for our civilization :P )

More people have mode disorders than you think because no one talks about their disorders. Pretty sure most people that troll people with disorders have untreated disorders themselves or they wouldn't feel the need to lash out. Anyway, I'm paranoid schizoaffective, so I definitely can't judge people who are merely autistic.

Dude what does it matter if you are different, while not diagnosed i'm sure i have ADD or ADHD, everyone has things wrong with them, while Asperger isn't great, it's part of people's lives, and you've shown all of us why you are a great entertainer, no amount of telling us about you being diagnosed with a condition will tell us otherwise

00:01 HA! I knew you will start with that song :D 02:03 "Magic: The Travelling" is canon :) 03:03 When Twilight says something about too much studying, you know that things have gotten serious :q 04:47 So spells have Latin-ish names now, like in "Harry Potter"? :P 05:45 Pretty much me & my boss when I'm at work :J 05:50 That Trixie portrait on the wall ;D And the crossed-over equal sign? Looks like Glim-Glam's world view has already turned 180° since she lives with Twilight :q 06:23 Looks like Twilight has a talent for drawing ponies :D 06:44 He's Spike the Hilarious after all :q 08:50 And you was worried about the way _you_ sing :D 12:10 Ever heard about Halting Problem, Starlight? :q 19:03 Hangover ponies are canon :P Looks like Magic can give you a hangover after all :q Unfortunately, a hangover cannot give you Magic :P 19:26 "Why are you blinking so loud, Rainbow Dash?" :D 19:36 Out of _what now_? :P 20:04 Well, there were 5 no-brainers in this episode for a while :q 25:52 Well, it's not stupid, but it just doesn't sound true. But don't get me wrong: I'm not saying that you're lying. It's just that so many people nowadays has been misguided into believing that there's something wrong with them, while in reality it isn't and they're perfectly normal. I know some people with diagnosed autism and Asperger's syndrome, and you are _definitely not one of them_. But many people nowadays _think_ that they have Asperger's syndrome or autism just because they're socially awkward in some situations. Some of them even have it diagnosed, because the doctors will gladly diagnose it if they can get some money out of their new patients and sell them more drugs :P But what you describe is _PERFECTLY NORMAL HUMAN BEHAVIOUR_ (or at least it _was_ once). It's just that nowadays the WHO adds more and more normal things to their list of diseases or mental problems (did you know that they even added shyness to their list of mental diseases recently?! :P can you believe that? ;/ ) Same goes with ADHD, dyslexia & other similar "mental problems". Sometimes they even diagnose contradictory "diseases" in one patient, like ADHD and autism ;o So yeah, I watch your reactions for a couple of years since, and I never noticed _any_ actual syndromes of autism, Asperger's syndrome, or ADHD in your behaviour, nor anything which would even remotely resemble any mental problem. You are smart, you are funny, not introvertic at all, I cannot see anything wrong with your brain nor psychology. And the things you described - everyone has them at some situations and it's perfectly normal human behaviour.

The reason why I say that is not because I think I have it. I know I have it. I was diagnosed with Aspergers and ADHD when I was six. A year ago I took a test and found out that my condition has improved a LOT ever since I was little. So don't think I am sitting here blabbering out a theory. It's a fact, I know that I have this and I have worked hard with it my entire damm life, so please don't come here and try to tell me otherwise. Sorry if that part sounds aggressive, but that is how it is.

JohnnyFireFlame Sorry if I made you mad, it was never my intention. But you don't need to apologize, I understand, and this is actually a reaction I was expecting (*though not wanting*!) to see, because that's how people _usually_ react when I tell them that: they get pissed off, because they think I'm trying to deny what they believe is real and they try to protect it, especially when they have been properly diagnosed with such conditions. But that's exactly what I'm trying to point out: I'm not trying to DENY that you've been diagnosed with Asperger's syndrome _and_ (curiously enough) with ADHD as well (which, if you look them up, are quite contradictory :q ). I'm trying to tell you that the mere fact that someone diagnosed you with such conditions (especially a long time ago), doesn't necessarily mean that you actually _have_ them (especially after so many years). And from what I can tell from your videos, you don't. You might have had them in the past, but now you seem fine. And if you really had some problems in the past and you did the hard work to be "normal" now, keep in mind that I'm not trying to deny it either! When I was a kid, I was very shy, and it also required a lot of work with my mind to become "normal", so I can understand where you come from. But there's nothing in your videos NOW which I would consider "socially awkward" or as signs of any mental illness. So if anyone is in the wrong here, is neither you, nor me: it's the doctors. If you want to understand my point better, take a look at what I wrote in my comment for "PoniiAndii" below this video. I think I did a better job at explaining it there than in this thread. Seriously though, I need to find a better way of explaining this subject to people, without them getting angry :/ (If it is possible at all, because it seems to be a very touchy subject.)
@JohnnyFerno

I understand what you are trying to say. But that wont change who and what I am. I hope that you can understand that I know what I am, and I have worked on both getting through the troubles of having Aspergers and taking advantage of what it gives me. If it's not clear in my videos that I have it, then I either hide it without knowing or as you said that I have worked so well on it that it's not visible anymore. I'd rather not dive anymore into this, if that is ok with you.
