She still is my favorite from ‘Saturday Night Live’ past and present shows!! Several years ago, I bought several gift cards that had her voice doing her ‘Roseanne Roseannadanna’ character. I kept one for myself, just to listen to her doing her famous routine (I listened so often, that it stopped working). Yes, if they had made a Roseanne Roseannadanna talking doll..... I would have bought one.

I apologize for correcting you, but the saying you reference is actually, "It's always something". I believe this was passed on to Gilda by one of her parents, and was the name of another book she wrote, which I gladly possess.

THANK YOU for uploading this. This was Gilda's only "Tonight Show" appearance. So wonderful. Gene did the show in 1970 - his only appearance - with David Steinberg as guest host. Sadly, most shows from that period are lost. So nice to see Johnny being such a fan of hers.

@@JackiePhillipsTheSocialPet When I was writing my Gene Wilder biography - "Gene Wilder: Funny and Sad" - I spoke to Johnny's nephew, Jeff Sotzing (great guy!), and asked if Gene was ever a guest. Jeff said a lot of shows from that time just were not saved and are lost forever - a real shame. I spoke to David (another nice guy) and he confirmed Gene was on with him.

Yes the originals were the best and even ‘for 10-15 years more but since after it was awful! The humor became lame. Seems they actually forgot how to make people laugh. And yes people today seem afraid to be real or afraid of expression. What comes out is contrived.

I just finished Gene Wilder's autobiography. Gene was honest and true in what he wrote about Gilda. He didn't portray her as perfectly adorable goddess; he portrayed her as a human being, full of charm, humor, and childlike vulnerability. Gene found Gilda to be unique and full of life.
