I love watching this stuff. I used to live in big cities until I retired, now I live on a farm. We hardly ever see a cop out here, maybe once or twice a year except during an election. Most people out here are armed to the teeth and are mil, retired mil and vets. Anyone would have to be nuts to try breaking houses here. Once someone tried robbing the gas station, when the Sheriff arrived the perp was found hanging upside down next to the gas pumps and was hog tied with barbed wire. Vietnam POW-style. Its a legend around here but I wasn't there, good story though.

I used to have respect for those guys until I was involved in an accident and they wrote the most idiotic accident report and when I disputed it, they wrote a even more outrageous amended report that attacked my integrity . I'm thoroughly disgusted with these lowly educated bozos that have no business writing accident report that can cost us tens of thousands of dollars.

And the Supreme Court ruled that the cops are not responsible for your safety because as you know they can't be sued for not coming to your aid in time even if you called for help ! You must protect yourself first and not count on them to save your life !!!! Their only responsibility is to enforce the laws .

Someday all 1a audit vids will look like this: Auditors: 'today we're down at CHP for 1a audit' Cop appears... Cop: 'hey bro saw you filming, you good?' Auditors: 'yep, just filming shit' Cop: 'cool, later man I got crimes to solve' Cop gets back to work. Keep the cameras on until this is what all 1a audits look like.

I don't understand how people, police in general get upset or defensive about any audits. When police are justifying, as for the public good, DUI roadblocks, prostitution stings, bait cars, drug dog searches at schools, seatbelt/child seat checkpoints, etc. We as a society even justify audits by the IRS, unscheduled health code inspections at restaurants, inspections at nursing homes, hospitals, etc. School boards demand unscheduled audits of a teacher's ability, by allowing someone to sit in on the class. Etc, etc. Etc. The next time a police dept uses underage consumers to try and by alcohol, or tobacco at a store, they are doing EXACTLY what these auditors are doing. Simply allowing someone the chance to either follow the law, or to break the law. As for the use of cameras to document any interaction between a member of society and a member of law enforcement, police do it themselves. If an auditor tells a cop, turn off your body cam, turn off your dash cam, turn off the overhead camera in the interrogation room, turn off the camera in the lobby, turn off the camera in the booking area etc. The same cop will say no. Why? It is there to be an impartial tool, to document without prejudice, and to protect not only the officer, but the public. The only difference is, if the cops do wrong on camera, or the information provided by the camera does not benefit or confirm their side of story, they can loose, destroy, refuse to release etc such evidence. When a member of society has the benefit of video evidence, which they have possession and legal authority over, they as a member of society HAVE ACCESS and CONTROL over, not the police. Imagine if every time you have a BBQ, the fire department policy is to show up at your house and CHECK, JUST FOR YOUR SAFETY, on what your doing? Or if they keep saying, we had someone call about the tiny amount of smoke and BBQ smell, so we HAVE TO WASTE my time, your time, and our time to check it out. By the way, do you have smoke detectors in the house, since were here we can go in house and CHECK. Do you have stickers on Windows notifying US of a children's room? What is your exit plan if a fire starts in the kitchen. We need to just check and see if your extinguishers are up to date. When was the last time you had your chimneys cleaned? Why is a gas can located on the floor of the garage? We now have to call the city code enforcer as ........all that because you were doing nothing illegal, but someone called. It is the SAME as when a cop says. We got called, so ya you will give us I.D., now we need to search you for weapons, where are you parked, etc.

Start hitting them hard with FOIA requests any time they take out their camera in uniform. Under section 1.2 of FOIA (5 ILCS 140/1.2 (West 2010)), "[a]ll records in the custody of a public body are presumed to be open to inspection and copying" and "[a]ny public body that asserts that a record is exempt from disclosure has the burden of proving by clear and convincing evidence that it is exempt." (Emphasis added). As a result, when a public body asserts that records are exempt under section 7(1)(d)(i), the public body has the burden to prove by clear and convincing evidence that the disclosure of the records would in fact interfere with a pending or actually and reasonably contemplated law enforcement proceeding. The fact that an investigation has been commenced is, by itself, not enough to satisfy the burden to withhold information under this exemption.

It’s their last ditch effort to exercise some semblance of control and authority over citizens even when no directives are warranted or needed. Johnny! About four years ago I was visiting friends in Glendale and I went for a walk and got lost. My phone was dead and since I live all the way across the country, and couldn’t find my way back, I climbed the 20 foot fence behind that exact police compound, walked up to the back door, and told the security guard my problem. They were like “how did you get in here?” And I told them “I hopped the fence. I’m really lost. I’m in desperate need of your help”. They just told me to stay put and then after reinforcements arrived, they escorted me through that front gate you see at 0:55.
