In season 1 episode 2, he sings probably his(now) second best song. This show is super underrated. There's so much that goes on it's hard to explain. At surface level, the show is about a group of imps in Hell that own their own contract killing business, but it goes so, SO much deeper than that. Each character has so much backstory. This song was originally sung and created by PARANOID DJ two years ago and it's called Stolas' Lament. They just now made it an official song for the series by having the voice actor for Stolas perform the song. Helluva Boss is an adult cartoon about demons in Hell. You can find all episodes for it here on youtube on the channel you got this video from. Believe me, if you were watching the show, this would hit you so much harder- You will get to hear Bryce singing in the second episode of season 1 and the first episode of season 2.

@@cyberwolf_1013 The pilot has officially been declared non-canon. And to be honest it became pretty apparent that it was non-canon long before it was made official. Everyone is completely different. Blitzo is portrayed as a completely incompetent moron rather than a killing savant who's a completely unstoppable death machine but terrible at being a regular person. Moxxie's respect for Blitzo is completely absent, and his annoyance with Blitzo's usual antics is amplified into open hostility towards Blitzo as a person. Millie is a bimbo rather than the well-adjusted, emotionally grounding force in an endless sea of psychopathy, self-loathing, and daddy issues. Loona isn't a troubled young lady with a heart of gold acting out. She's every bit the horrid, despicable person she portrays herself as in canon, complete with assaulting a *baby* to "blow off steam." Stolas is a supervillain rather than an emotionally stunted uwu sad gay birb. And then there's the fact that the ending completely invalidates the whole "The existence of Hell has to be kept secret at all costs" plot line. Like Truth Seekers in its entirety doesn't make sense if the pilot is canon.

Since you liked this song, you'd probably also like YOU WILL BE OKAY from S1 E2. Same character performing a more comforting song with an equally powerful voice. They's a lot of context in this I could give, but the short version is that he's heartbroken at the thought of loosing someone who's one of the few positive things in his life. He's coming to terms that it's ultimately the other guy's choice to stay with him and is setting him free from a mostly transactional arrangement. And this music video will be the last new content for the show we're expecting for the next couple months. So we're just gonna have to wait and see if our sad owl boy gets his happy ending or not

You can't just jump into this one without knowing anything about the show! 😅 There's so much emotional context you're missing out on, enough to make us viewers cry at the song 😅 The show is a musical, so every episode has at least one song in it. And Bryce is not the only Broadway star on the cast. PLEASE check out the show, even if it's just for yourself off-camera; you will not be disappointed! Without specific spoilers, the background of this song: Bryce's character, Stolas, is in a sort of transactional relationship with someone who's got even more baggage than he does (which is a lot!), and he's been trying to make it more real and less transactional for basically two seasons now, but everyone on the show is too damn broken 😢

To answer your question, yes, the show is basically a musical, which they tell you in the pilot, with most episodes having a musical number of some kind. Episode 2 of season 1 has another song sung by this guy, so you get introduced to him rather quickly. I highly recommend just watching/reacting to the whole show, maybe 2 or 3 episodes a week, as they are at max 30 minutes long. Most of the characters that have singing parts are voiced by Broadway actors/vocalists. The show starts off very extreme, but it tends to calm down once the plot is established more.

(Everyone else in the comment section has already given every piece of info, but I want to put it all in my own way) Bryce's character here, Stolas, does have two other songs in the show, both very emotional. This song in particular was originally written by a fan who's a fan-music creator, Paranoid DJ, like 2 years ago in between episodes 6 and 7 (of season 1; we're now in between 7 and 8 of season 2). For this video they got permission to cover the song with updated lyrics and performed by the character's voice actor, set to a visual side story to set the tone for the next episode. There's a lot of emotional context behind this song from the show, so I really hope you watch all the current episodes soon, and perhaps come back to this song (it'll hit so much harder). As long as you're okay with crass humor (a la Brandon Rogers, who co-writes the show), it's a great show, a musical with at least one number per episode, about some demons in Hell trying to work out their traumas to have functional relationships. At the center is the protagonists Blitz(o), an imp who runs a team of hitmen who go to the human realm to kill people the deceased want revenge on, and Stolas, a prince of the Ars Goetia charged with astronomy. They have had a deal where Blitz(o) uses Stolas's magic grimoire to travel to the surface world in exchange for a sexual affair to make up for Stolas's loveless marriage, but after some events the real feelings they start to develop for each other get fractured. I can't give away more than that, but all of us Helluva Boss fans would implore you to check it out for the details!

Info about the show: The pilot gives a glimpse into the main cast: Blitzo (the o is silent), Moxxie, Millie, and Loona. The three imps and the hellhound are a part of I.M. P (Immediate Murder Professionals) and their core job is fulfilling commissions from sinners (I can't fathom a hellborn citizen wanting a human dead) to kill someone currently living. In the pilot, Stolas is a royal (Goetia) that is basically having an affair with Blitzo. Blitzo wanted a book that give I.M.P. the ability to traverse to the human world, and Stolas wanted the intimate relationship. Granted, you get more about Stolas and the complicated relationship with Blitzo after watching the first season (I don't wanna spoil for any newbies, it's much better to experience it), this song does give a good idea of how he truly feels about Blitzo. The music for this show goes so hard - every episode has at least one original song, and stylewise they're all over the map. The best info on the animation is that it's called Helluva Boss, and all of it is on KZfaq for free. The plot is a lot of demons from actual hell running a business where they go to earth and kill mortals for pissed off dead sinners with an axe to grind thanks to the help of a wealthy benefactor from the demon nobility. It's a little about their job killing mortals for profit, but mostly, it's about the cast and their relationships to each other and the world. Also lots of dirty jokes and phenomenal cartoon violence. Very worth the watch, and it does well on react channels, FYI. Plus, each episode has at least one song either sung in character or as part of a musical interlude.

As a huge fan of this show, this style of production is absolutely normal for just about every episode. If you don't know what it's about, it takes place in Hell following a trio of imps and a hellhound that run an assassination business in the Pride Ring called I.M.P. (Immediate Murder Professionals). The boss is named Blitzo but he insists on being called Blitz so a lot of people spell it like "Blitzø". The other two imps are Millie, a sweet but psycho kind of imp born and raised in Wrath, and her husbad Moxxie, a "thespian type" born in Wrath and raised in Greed. The Hellhound is Loona who was adopted by Blitzø and has a serious attitude with just about everyone who crosses her path. The demon in this music video is Stolas, a prince of the Ars Goetia (based on the actual depiction from the Lesser Key of Solomon) who has been lending his spellbook to Blitzø so they can access the human world to conduct their business of taking revenge on the people they're contracted to kill by the Sinners that show up in Hell. The deal between Blitzø and Stolas is that Blitzø has to return the book once a month on the full moon and sleep with Stolas and then he can keep the book for the rest of the month. The thing is is that Stolas is married to Stella and they have a teenage daughter named Octavia (Via for short). Stolas cheated on Stella with Blitzø and now everything is going wonky at home for him. I don't condone cheating, but to be fair, she was absolutely horrible to Stolas during the entirety of the marriage and absolutely had it coming. I won't say anymore, but I highly recommend watching the show on Vivzie's channel. It's absolutely amazing and you won't regret it.

I'm glad that someone who knows music is just as blown away as I am by this performance. Coupled with the knowledge of the show and story, this song hits very hard. A true masterpiece in my completely uneducated opinion.

Helluva boss is a show on KZfaq that got HYPER MEGA famous stupid quick. It's got awful, raunchy, gorey humor that's hilarious, but when it wants to hit you in the feels, it does so like a runaway freight train to the family jewels. I'm not exaggerating by saying this show is better than most TV shows currently on. They've had massive quality voice actors on, like the Broadway voices of genie and Beetlejuice, Norman Reedus, and even Ke$ha. I cannot reccomend you check this show out enough.

Bryce Pinkham met the creator of the show, Vivienne Medrano, because she's a fan of A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder (the Broadway musical) and he originated the role of Monty Navarro (the main character). If you haven't listened to Gentleman's Guide, I highly recommend it, as it's currently the 10th year anniversary of the show!

So, some context... the 4 eyed owl demon made a deal with the horned demon... then they both fell in love, both refuse to admit this, and both keep telling themselves that while their love is true, the other is just using them. So the owl demon has finally gotten the gem that will allow the horn demon to nolonger be dependent on him, effectively breaking their deal, freeing them both to admit their true feelings, or as owl fears, horn will take the gem and walk away without even looking his way.... it is so God damm pretty

Just listening to you talk about singing makes me want to take those voice lessons I’ve always wanted but never had the time/money for. I LOVE singing, but progress is so frustratingly slow just experimenting on my own. I really want to be able to understand and do the things you’re talking about.

for his last song, he literally cried while singing... His charakter reached a breaking point there and his voice broke, some lines were a little off or screeching... many people said that he was performing badly, but i think it's even more of a masterpiece BECAUSE we all know Stolas (Name of this Owl guy) can sing very well! His heart and soul just shattered in this episode

One thing about the original music video is that the creator sang partly about Octavia, Stolas' daughter, at moments too, where as Vivziepop chaanged the song to have Stolas sing only about his love for Blitz. 😢 Which is heartbreakingly amazing, but the original went along the path that Stolas is worried that if he loves Blitz, he'll lose his 'Via, but if he doesn't love Blitz, then Stolas is also scared that he will end up romantically lonely forever! 😰💔

"Is this normal for the show?" Yes, absolutely, it's a musical in disguise and Stolas (the singer in this video) has two other beautiful songs. I think other comments explain the show better than I could, but to that end there's a lot of deep, well-written story behind the surface-level pretext of the show and it's so, SO good. What's most impressive about Bryce Pinkham's voice in this is that this isn't even his normal singing voice; it's the voice of the character, which he does so very well in his other two songs as well.

Fun fact, a lot of the voice actors in Helluva Boss are actually broadway talents like Bryce, Stolas' voice actor! Two of which include Alex Brightman who plays Beetjuice in the broadway show, (you guessed it), Beetlejuice. And James Monroe Iglehart who played Genie in the original broadway production of Aladdin! :D

What I find important to mention is, that this song was originally a fan song from Paranoid DJ here on youtube from I think one or two years ago before the story was as well established. And now it is officially part of the universe with just a few small adjustments.

The show came up in the midst of the pandemic. Which meant there were a lot of Broadway performers looking for something to do. The show picked up a number of them. Including the performer bringing Beetlegeuse to the musical stage and the performer bringing the Genie in the musical Aladdin. There are a lot of surprising musical numbers that just blow the house down. And from what is expected Helluva Boss is the lesser of the musical stories set in this particular world. The bigger production got picked up by a main studio and is finally coming to Prime and is called Hazbin Hotel. You can catch the pilot for that one which probably isn't canon any longer. But its still worth seeing.
