So we finally did a detailed review of Yamaha F310 vs Yamaha F280. What we found was majorly the finish and then the sound. However the sound was a minute factor in every sense. Does it justify the difference of Rs. 2500, The answer is NO. Earlier the F310 was manufactured in Indonesia and we could see a noticeable difference between the two. After the factory in Chennai started manufacturing F310, the wood quality has changed and isn't justifying the price difference according to us. The F310 does sound a little more brighter and clearer as opposed to the F280 but however for a beginner this isn't a noticeable difference.
However this is just our opinion. You should trust what your ears tell you. And that is why we always make review videos to let the consumer have the power to decide which is best for them. Music is very subjective and each person has a different perception about it. And none is the wrong one!

F280 : 2:11 2:44 3:33 F310 : 2:26 3:09 3:47 Overall, F310 is producing slightly sharp sound and F280 is producing Bassy Sound. F280 is best Guitar at ₹ 6,889

@@soumyadeepgiri2362 I am using F280 since 18 months. It is an excellent beginner guitar. Yamaha brand is too big to have trivial quality issues like bridge ripping out or neck bowing or truss rod issues. Of course you have to take care of Maintenance of your guitar. It is a musical instrument and requires delicate care. It is not a hockey stick. After reasonable proficiency of playing, you will automatically evolve to learn which guitar to purchase next. Go ahead and purchase F280 from a shop. Take a guitarist friend with you to pick and choose the right F280.

@@acuosticanurag Yamaha says the top wood of F280 is laminated Sitka Spruce. The back end and sides are Tone wood. Sitka Spruce top is good for resonance, sustain and sound quality. At a price of Rs. 7300 Yamaha brand is a bargain and value for money. Yamaha guitars have made a good name in the international market for more than 60 years.

F280 doesnt have a balanced tone it sounds bassy, whereas the f310 has overall balanced sound in bass, mid & trebles...

Excellent comparison with demonstration. Your assessment and conclusion is fair and honest. Why not buy an Indian product when it is from the same brand ? After all, Yamaha too has a reputation at stake. If Yamaha bikes made in India is worth for entry level market compared to Japan make, then F280 certainly has the same dignity and quality. The choice is clear. 👍

F280 sounds bit boxy. F310 has that power in its tone

To my ears, the difference is not subtle, rather quite audible. 310 sounds much balanced, and the hum sustains longer. The resonance has more depth (I think the bass should be substantially audible to all). If one does not understand what I said, get the 280 one. Otherwise, 310 is much better sounding (at least on this video, I believe no audio alteration have been done).

The bass of Yamaha F280 rattles a bit in fingerstyle and flat picking while the trebles sound a trifle tinny when strumming. F310 sounds more rounded and balanced. Or, may be, I'm just being picky. Good thing though is that the Indian variant of F310 has better string spacing -- a long-standing complaint regarding Yamaha acoustics.

If ur a beginner go for f280, if ur at intermediate level must go for f310 coz there is definitely a sound difference between the two. F310 has a warm sound while f280 has more treble in it's sound.

I find F310 to be a bit fuller, they both have a spruce top though. Maybe it is becoz F310 uses "Meranti" (AKA Phillipines mahogany) back and sides. And F280 definitely doesn't use Meranti as it is locally sourced wood. I couldn't find which wood is it. But still for a beginner, F280 (and its cutaway counterpart, FS80C. Both are a solid beginners guitars. Bang for the buck. I have played all of them. Getting yamaha quality in 7000-7500 is wonderful for beginners. Later on they can choose to invest in a solid top or Electro acoustic. F280 and FS80C doing wonders for indian guitar learners.

I bought f310 made in India which back & side tone tone wood, not meranti (similar to f280) But no difference in terms of sound with made in Indonesia f310(My friend has f310 Indonesia made) & I also play that, but obviously sounds better (well balanced & full of bass) f310 than f280.

@@Sharmajay69 that's a good guitar, but not better than Yamaha f310, I played both Cort sounds loud with bass & treble skip the mids, but Yamaha sounds well balanced bass, mid, trebles mix combination, that reason I purchased Yamaha, btw person to person differ this.

A direct comparison is not possible since 1. Both are not solid tops 2. One Is a transacoustic and other isn't. If both are compared the Emx1 wins in all aspects.

Sir how about buying a tanglewood crossroads series which comes in the same price range. I am using yamaha f310 since last 8 years. After getting the tanglewood crossroad I cant help appreciate the mahogany rich sound with less bass..

Which is durable in glossy finish body and matte finish body? May be glossy finish body guitar's can't absorbed mostiure comparison to f280, so f310 wood is durable with my opinion it's my GUESS but i want to know my GUESS is true (really glossy can durable than matte finish) i want to learn guitar and i plan to buy our frist guitar. If you are a performing artist, the electro acoustic has to be purchased for sure. If you want a better pickup, u can choose the F280 and the Double X0. Great combination.

CD60 v3 and epiphone DR100 are dreadnought guitars. Kepma EAC is a concert size. So direct comparison isn't possible. However considering dreadnought under 15k. Kepma EDC is the best.

The made in indonesia model had a better sound. However it's discontinued and now only made in India models are available. Hence the F280 is a correct investment.

Conclusion - F280 - Less mid tones and string rattles. That's called less defination. F310 - Best for recording and live perform cause it has balanced warm sound. For more Rs.2000, I would prefer F310 . निष्कर्ष - F280 - कम मध्य स्वर और स्ट्रिंग खड़खड़ाहट। इसे कम परिभाषा कहते हैं. As per our experience it will be similar life for both. Both guitars face belly bulge and bridge uprooting after 2 years especially in high humid areas. Both the guitars will have a longer life in Low humid areas.
