See Skyways Avro 748 G-ASPL. This had a spell with BKS AT Ltd and saw out it's days hauling parcels for the Royal Mail. Tragically a young student employed to keep an eye on the freight and ensure the fuselage doors were locked failed to notice the rear door was in the unlocked position. The 'door open' warning light did not register in the cockpit. Somewhere over Coventry the door flew open and in the air stream was torn off. It hit one of the tail planes slicing it off and the aircraft when into a tail spin and hurtled to the ground. The two pilots and the student were killed. RIP.

This happened while it was in service with Dan Air, indeed the aircraft had operated a return passenger service earlier in the day LGW-BRN. I also worked as mail attendant flying into LPL most weeknights. There was also a problem with the pressure locks on the door which contributed to the accident

Did you noticed that yellow "Dakota",with the Speedbird on its tail, HAS TURBOPROP ENGINES??? What a great convertion, and what a rarity !! Think they are 2 "Viscount" emgines!! ( Rolls-Royce "Dart" ). And those rare Vickers "Vanguard"! Thanks for posting this great video !!!

Light aircraft in regular use today seem almost unchanged from 50 or 60 years ago!

And the a/c at 09:25, is a N.A "Harvard" Mk.4, (British version ), and NOT a N.A. AT-6 "Texan", ( U.S. version ). One can tell the difference by the long exhaust AND the rear, ( last ) portion of the canopy glasing, ( larger ).

Is there a British aircraft registered G-ARSE
@frostyfrost4094 Жыл бұрын
Would not of thought so. G-??VD and others were not allowed by the registration authorities.

Good but the music's way too stressful and dramatic.
