Hello, friends!
I hope you’re doing well. Today’s video is a casual (and chatty) plan with me as I meal plan for the next two weeks and prep for the upcoming work week. Things have been pretty busy on my end, and while the last thing I want to do is promote toxic productivity or hustle culture, I acknowledge that this period of transition where I wear multiple hats is my reality for now. Part of my self-care includes keeping on top of my priorities and deadlines to manage my stress and prevent burning out.
I hope you’ll find some of these planner setup ideas helpful, and I’d love to know what you like to do to prepare for the upcoming week!

It’s been such a game-changer for me! I actually enjoy meal planning now, and I like that this book is small enough to come to the grocery store with me ☺️🛒

I have the same stencil. At first I used a mechanical pencil. But eventually I realized that the Stars actually we're broken. Now I use five squares. I still prefer using my mechanical pencil.

Ah, great ideas to use a mechanical pencil and the squares instead of the stars. I like the stars, but I might feel less frustrated if I use the squares instead. Less angles to get frustrated by 😅

they're not broken at all, i can get perfect stars out of my stencil each time, you just need the right technique. not like she does it where she goes through the 5 stars top and bottom, but draw out each of the stars individually. it's great and they are perfectly spaced out
@LittleCocoStudio

@@AllTheArtsy sounds like it’s user error on my part! 😅 I tried drawing out each star individually, and I kept messing up some edges. Then, I tried outlining all the top edges and then the bottom ones, which to see if that helped to prevent the pen from darting around in the stencil. How I managed to over complicate it, I don’t know. 🫠 I’ll play around with it more, because when the stars do work out, they’re really cute! ⭐️

I use the Zebra Sarasa Mark On (0.4 mm and 0.5 mm) in black in my Hobo Weeks. This specific Sarasa doesn't smudge when using a felt or colour dot pen and won't bleed into the other side of the page.

ooh, thank you for those recommendations! I'll have to check those pens out! 😍

I haven’t used my stencil yet but I sometimes ink my stamps with my Tombow - saves carrying that extra ink pad as you say. Varsha

That’s a great point - thank you, Varsha! ☺️ I used to use my markers for my stamps last year, but then at some point stopped using my stamps all together. Not sure why.

@@LittleCocoStudio sometimes it can be down to too much choice. You could start with picking 3 that really call to you emotions and go from there. That is if you want to, if you are ok with things as they are then, right now you don’t need to go back them, you will know when. 😉

@@earthologyhut@earthologyhut Yes, I think I was overwhelming myself with choice! At some point last year, I pared down to stickers I could keep in my pencil case, which has worked out well. I'm sure I'll eventually reach for my washi tapes and stamps again when the time feels right. 🥰
@earthologyhut

@@LittleCocoStudio I wanted to make sure I used a variety of my washi so I cut off a few roles of each, cut some patterns out for the sticker books and pockets in my TNs and put the rolls away so I wouldn’t feel too overwhelmed with too many rolls. 🤓

there are transparent mood stickers you can use, might be just easier (altho probably fairly limited) ((but then again you are using a 5-point scale currently anyway so maybe not?)
@LittleCocoStudio

Great idea! Maybe I could try stickers. 🤔Another thing I could try is capturing mood on the left side of the page and mood in the chart instead of in both places. I have lots of time to experiment!

Look at how delicious your TSL pen wallet is! I seriously have to invest in some of their leather, as yours is so gorgeous Would love to see more of your Cousin, I use mine really similarly!

@@LittleCocoStudio I use the monthly as a calendex! And then I use the actual calendex/yearly index as a tracker.😂

@@HannaChoe ohh, that's brilliant way to use it! I love how using the monthly at a calendex would make it more visual and easier to connect an event with a day of the week (e.g. certain days of the week are reserved for specific clients/projects, so my eyes would know to look there first). ooh, the more think about it, the more I love it!

I love your meal planning system. What is the name of the fountain pen you used for writing on the post card at 2:00. I love the color of the barrel so much. I’m a beginner in the fountain pen world and trying to buy the ones I really really like only.

Thanks so much for taking the time to comment! I'm glad you like my meal planning system - it's working really well for me! That pen is a Sailor Pro Gear Slim - Line Friends (Brown). It was a bit pricey, but it's one of my favourite pens and I love it so much! I have a similar approach to pens I buy - right now, I'm convincing myself that I'm "done" with getting new pens which is great because it means I use this pen every day. 🥲

I really enjoyed seeing your planning process. I don't really plan out my meals ahead of time but my grocery list making is pretty similar to yours.
@LittleCocoStudio
@LittleCocoStudio 6 ай бұрын
I'm realizing heading into year 2 of meal planning in this way that my grocery list is becoming pretty standard. That can be a good thing (less time fussing about it in general = more time to "fuss" about things that interest me more) or a bad thing (getting stuck in a rut over constantly eating the same thing week after week - this has happened to me before and my response was to stop planning all together which introduced a lot of chaos and take out). 😅

@@LittleCocoStudio with all my fitness stuff there's always a good chunk of the year where i'm pretty strictly tracking my calories but i would definitely go crazy if i tried to do that all year around. i always give myself a few months off for mental health reasons where i just eat whatever i want (usually a lot of instant ramen) and don't worry about calories or protein or anything. a little chaos isn't the worst thing in the world.
