Fun fact! Azazel was once the angel of sacrifices before he fell and the whole reason he's "the yellow eyed goat demon" is because of the scapegoat ritual he was often apart of! He was also apart of a group of soldier Angel's called "the watchers" which is pretty neat for the watchers of azazel.

While this is all true, I must point out that officially this tradition comes from the book of Enoch and is not canonical in Judaism and is for the most part Azazel is still seen as an angel associated with the scapegoat ritual. The idea he is a fallen angel is solely Christian, and even then only found In non-canonical scripture

Granted, enochian texts are considered apocryphal by most Judeo-Christian sects.
