UPDATE: Be sure to check out the updated version of this video for All Star Battle R here: • Jojo's Bizarre Adventu...
Two months in the making, I finally finished this audio project!
Released in 2013, Jojo's Bizarre Adventure: All Star Battle did not have English voices, as it was released long before the anime had even received an official dub (Stardust Crusaders hadn't even been adapted yet). Years later, as we await the release of the Part 6 anime, the first 5 parts of the series have all been animated, and dubbed in English, which got the gears in my head turning.
There have been plenty of videos made in the past with people matching up the English voices to a few taunts or special intros, and they're all great. I, however, wanted to go bigger. I wanted to do EVERY SUPER IN THE GAME (up through part 5, as that's as far as the anime has gotten at this point), with a couple taunts for flavor.
After scouring through hours and hours of episodes, gathering all the necessary clips, and removing the background audio (to the best of my ability), I bring you this exercise in my video and audio editing: an unofficial English dub of Jojo's Bizarre Adventure: All Star Battle!

Of course, I was not able to find an equivalent voice clip for every single line, so sometimes I had to improvise/localize, which was a fun process in and of itself
For example, in Avdol's "Give me four wishes!" super, the original Japanese line is "Magician's Red does not forgive you," which then transitions into his "Yes! I am!" taunt. While the former does have an English equivalent in the dub, the anime features a longer line "Yes, you had better believe I am!" in order to fit latter's lip flaps. While that works in the anime, it is simply too long of a line for the lip flaps in this game. So to remedy this, I took other lines from the same fight ("Hell 2 U!) so that it would flow better.
In Fugo's case both his HHA and GHA feature lines that he himself never said. His line from his HHA was originally spoken by Abacchio, and his GHA is taken entirely from a novel (Purple Haze Feedback). So, I improvised
Giorno is an interesting case. The dub gives him many alternate variations of his "I, Giorno Giovanna, have a dream" speech, except for... well... the original one. While there is a version of this line spoken by his VA from a few twitch streams, those clips are no longer viewable (or at least, I could not find them), and I decided to go with the more flavorful, official versions from the dub for the sake of audio quality
Any other alterations were made in the interest of flow, better-sounding delivery, or because I straight up could not find a better equivalent line
All of this was done entirely through VIDEO and AUDIO EDITING. While a modding scene for ASB does exist, I do not possess the tools nor the knowledge to mod the voices into the game, but I'd love to learn!
Hoo boy! I've rambled on and nerded out for long enough. I hope you all enjoy the video!
And for those who are waiting for my Soulcalibur tutorials for my Dissidia recreations, don't worry, they are coming within the next few weeks. I just got REALLY invested in this endeavor. I just really love voice acting and all the stuff that goes into it. Maybe I'll do another one of these in the future? After I take a sizable break, of course.
Thanks for watching! Hope you all have a wonderful day!
