FYI: pyjama comes from Persing words "pai" (foot or leg) + "jameh" (clothes). So, pyjama means foot clothes. This word goes to French language and then comes back to Iran with the French pronounciation. In Iran they say pizhameh.

Hey Mark... It's not only in the US or Canada that people have become complacent, this attitude has spread all across the world. People have become culturally less and less aware.. As for being sloppy and unkempt, yes, most people have become so in most countries including India. You know, they just don't care... do whatever they like not bothering much what impressions others might form about them..😅😊 As regards attitude of entitlement, people are more conscious about their rights than what their duties/ responsibilities/ contributions are....😅😊😅😅😅

Hi, in my neck of the woods people are used to wearing fashionable clothes and paying attention to their appearance. Plus I live in small town where almost all know each other, and no one who respects yourself can't afford to look sloppy. It's a kind of showing off. I noticed when I go to the mall wearing sloppy(which means I wear sportsuit bottoms and t-shirt or so), due to the Sod's law I always meet some familiar people or even worse colleagues, and feel uncomfortable. I even haven't seen here anyone throwing garbage in pajama bottoms😅 The language you've heard is russian, "da" means yes in English. Thanks a lot for your excellent lesson dear Mark. Take care!🤗

Mark! You are speaking my mind, as an immigrant to the US, I've been wondering for the past couple of years what's wrong with the new generation in this country why they don't even put on normal clothing (why they go to university in pajamas), why they don't act like real ladies and gentlemen, why they have no idea about other parts of the world, why they don't think America is getting worse and so on, yes, I believe the society is falling apart, though it's still a great country full of beautiful things and opportunities for those who are hardworking and resilient. Anyway, I appreciate you for bringing this essential topic to our attention, God bless you.❤

I'd say the same about our country. As a teacher at school, I can tell you that most children are not interested in other cultures. I try as hard as I can, but there are few people who can get touched by new experiences.

I would probably behave similarly if I were you, Mark, and stay out of people's way, I understand that feeling. However, I think this is not necessary. People will just start passing you (us) in a normal way. I guess nothing will happen. I encourage you, let's try this. 😃
