I have both the large and smaller versions of this knife with micarta handles. I actually consider these a more affordable alternative to some Fällknivën and even Bark River knives. The blade shape is maybe a little rounder point than what i normally like, but the convex grind is amazingly well done - especially considering the price. And with micarta handles, they seem very, very tough. Great job Tim. 👍🏻

Would you really put it in the same tier as a Bark River or Fallkniven? I'm in need of a new bush knife and I'm really considering one of these. People really seem to like them.

@@jimbusmaximus4624 Well,I'm sure some won't agree with my answer... But I've owned an F1 (gave it to a friend). I still own a BR Aurora, but I will not buy another BR knife - WAY overpriced. I own several LT Wrights, and I'd recommend them for a more 'expensive' semi-custom knife. I own several Joker knives. I do not feel "under gunned" with them. They are great knives. Joker knives' fit and finish are AMAZING for the price. Value means a lot to me. So, are they on the same level as these other brands? Most would say no. But they ARE an excellent alternative and I feel you'll not feel in any way inferior - other than your knife will cost half of what their's will.

@@kanukkarhu I think we share a similar way of looking at things. I'm a working man that's completely satisfied if my tools or gear don't have the trendiest logo on them as long as it does the job well. I want something that performs well at a price I can afford. Because it's going to get used and worn. I thank you for your honest feedback. And I think I just decided on my next knife!

Thank you, micarta is more resistant than wood, makes more sense on a hard use knife like the Nomad. The walnut looks really nice though. That grind is really nice and the edge retention is fantastic too.

I really like that grind, more knives should have similar. I guess it is just more expensive to produce and also maybe sharpening something different puts people off. The larger one really looks interesting. I just can't afford to buy every knife on the market though 😂. Thanks for stopping by Dan.

It looks easy with easy wood doesn't it😂. It's great at battoning and surprisingly good at a lot of things that a blade that thick shouldn't be good at. Thanks for watching Trev.

One of my favorite Jokers. A batoning beast! Splits wood like an axe! My only complaint is that I wish it came in 14c28n like all their other knives. N695 is just glorified 440c.

Had it, sold it, wouldn't recommend it. The handle was too short even without gloves; It's not really a convex, but a convex edge on a hi saber flat; and it has bad weight, most of it in the handle. The handle was also very slick, but mine was micarta and some sandpaper would probably solve this issue. Other than that, it's was a very good looking knife, beautiful matching with it's firesteel. Sold it without losses... but I still prefer my Joker Nessmuk Stag Horn, witch is in another league and can do 90% of this one's tasks anyway.

Each to his own, I also prefer the Nessmuk as it is less cumbersome. The Nomad however is good for fire prep, feathers nicely splits well. Thanks for watching mate.

Beautiful thumbnail👍 Nice looking knife. So so close my Bravo 1.25. Full height convex, 5.5 mm thickness, exact same length, even handle is quite similar. But this is definitely better value, I think. I will get either this or the longer one. Thanx for the nice video!

Great video. I own a few knives like for example, Esee PR4, 3, Izula II, CR 2.5… really like them all!. Recently started looking at Joker knives and got the Erizo, it is an excellent knife, totally recommended it. I am between the Joker Nomad and the Campero, I do not make many fires and if I do is for may firebox stove, therefore I need a camp knife, would you recommend the Nomad as a camp knife or should the Campero be more “one knife quiver for camp chores?
@KuukkeliBushcraft
@KuukkeliBushcraft Ай бұрын
I think I would recommend the Nomad but I don't own the campero. I have been talking to the designer of the Nomad (also probably had something to do with the Campero as he was part of BS9) he has a new company and has the Habulis (Taxus knives) it kind of looks somewhere between the two. Very hard to get at the moment though. The distribution networks aren't really established yet and he isn't producing enough for the demand just in Spain at the moment. I also really like the Joker Nesmuck. For processing firewood though the Nomad is the best knife I own. It's a bit of weight to carry around though. I did find this video though. You might have seen it but this dude has the Campero and the Nomad. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/q7KSfsZz0sydeqM.htmlsi=o-PtiGnxlSQiOfZF Thanks for watching mate.
