It's funny how we Americans are so trained to seek glory and fame that we can't understand when a person does what they do simply for the joy of doing it and getting better at it. We think the trophies and parades are the point of it all, meanwhile Jokic IS actually living in the moment, all the time, not in the future when he imagines everything will finally pay off. This is why we are perpetually unhappy. It's because we always imagine some future event or aquisition is going to finally make us happy. We persue happiness instead of slowing down, focusing on what's actually happening now, and being fulfilled by the present.

@@Jazz-gb9lp On the contrary I'm not one of those who complain that players are only in it for the money or don't "love the game". For me ALL players started out coz they love the game. That's why we play BBall coz it's the sport we love to play. Just so happens that these guys play for a living. So they're playing the sport they love just so happens they're getting paid to do it. What sets Jokic apart from most players is coz he sets his FAMILY first. He'd rather spend time with his family and go back to his country rather than take part in the NBA festivities.
@johnlim7720
@johnlim7720 Жыл бұрын
@@markogagic4091 Well said...these guys are just envious. You can't really blame that most players are more into the money even though they started out playing coz they love the game. Most of the current players come from low income families so the sudden fame and fortune most likely changed on how they approach the game. They think all NBA players are selfish. Most probably are but Jokic sure isn't one of them. It even shows in the way he plays...he'd rather pass and make his teammates happy than take the shot himself.

You saw Jokic and his face when he saw Monte Morris, pure love for a friend for a man, that's Jokic. In an interview in Serbian the other day, when they asked Jokic how he plays so easily, he stated that it just looks that way, that during the playoffs he got hit a lot, he fell or was knocked down the most times in his life and was simply tired from the long season. Jokic loves basketball, but it's a job where he gets kicked in the back and he wants to go home to Serbia, he wants to rest to find peace with people who love him and enjoy his horses, which are his exhaust valve from a busy season. Jokic is in Denver and will stay there, but his home is in Serbia, in Sombor. Denver will see how much it means to Jokic when he and other players bring another title next year, start preparations for next year's parade.

@@ZEUS_God1he doesn’t need to take less money this isn’t football every good team is already over the cap but it’s a soft cap and you have the right to go way over to sign your own players he’ll get the max or close to it.

They can win the next 2 too cus KD Westbrook CP Kawhi Curry and Bron are old/injured now and in the East the best teams have serious issues. Nuggets and Kings are the only "set" teams. Everyone else is either gonna trade/ lose their core or fire their coach in the next two years.

Thanks Pat and Stephen for showing Joker and the Nuggets respect. So many in the national media have been so dismissive of the Nuggets. I had to turn off the sound on the TV all through the play offs.

It’s American culture that makes people from other countries want to get the job done and then go home. I have lived in the US a few year with the same feeling. It’s hard to get really connected with America and that it’s normal you cannot force people to love the country.

I was in the army close to his born city of Sombor,people in that area of Serbia are well known as laid back,everything is flat,people are quiet and warm,they like to take care of home and land around it,appreciate family and friends,he prefers more to ride a horse than to shoot commercials,it's just who he is

I felt that *... NO...* The moment Jokic was the most happy was went his brother,wife and his daughter were on the court with him. He didn't care about the title, but he was happy because his family, his teammates, his brothers, his coaches, the owners. Jokic was happy because he was able to make every single person on that franchise,every single fan, every single family member happy. Jokic lives to make everyone smile and laugh. He's truly a beautiful human being that every single adult,kid,teenager needs to take as a idol. On a country full of violence,egos,anger,rage,madness. USA needs more people like Jokic. Jokic was happy for everyone involved on this project and seeing his brothers happy. He was celebrating people happiness, not winning a NBA Finals.
