Same. It's so much more relatable and makes the experience different than watching an MLB game. Part of the draw is the mix that a former Pro like Plouffe is matched up with an average Joe like Joez and to see the "Joes" sometimes come out on top is a huge part of the entertainment for me

Agreed. Part of the appeal is that, at least in theory, any pair of dudes (and hopefully women soon/eventually) could practice and wind up competing in the Warehouse. It's the approachability of the mundane that keeps things fun; the majesty of normal people achieving flashes of true, enduring greatness.

In my head I toyed around with the idea of a double play rule where if a ground ball is fielded and thrown and hits the strike zone within idk 2.5 seconds of the ball being hit, then it's a double play. Would be cool to see attempts to "turn 2" and have this possibility be out there to get out of jams, but I think this would be logistically too complicated to implement

I had a thought similar to that but have a target of whatever size on the wall by the foul pole on the 1st base side. Have it so big to actually be able to hit it, while missing it leads to the runners getting another base. Makes it an actual gamble and strategy to try it.

Add a gong high above the strike zone. Fielder catches it and has to fluidly throw at the gong. Everyone will hear and celebrate the Gong Play

I go back and forth on If they should but sometimes I like seeing that they are human. It also leads to great moments when they finally get an out or hit a homerun off jomboy lol. I don't want to tune in and it looks like a mlb game. I want it to still be warehouse ball. But I think the new rules help with this

Idk if they have the depth for that. I'm also assuming the players are getting paid. That's substantially adding to the cost for potentially little benefit

To expand on this more, let's assume that a typical at bat pitched by Joez includes 1 strike, 2 close balls, and 3 noncompetitive balls. Currently this will almost certainly result in a 6 pitch walk because the strike will likely be taken since the chances of Joez throwing 3 strikes in an at bat is remote. But with the 3 combined strikes looking allows a pitcher to stop pitching rule, the same at bat would likely result in 3 takes and 3 swings because strikes looking against Joez would want to be avoided at all costs. This should lead to less walks, more balls in play, help teams with a clearly worse pitcher (because when facing a team with roughly equal pitchers you wouldn't have the same impetus to swing at anything close), and I think it would be an interesting point of strategy to track and comment on during the broadcast.

I second this--seems like it should be an auto foul or a re-do or something. A lot of the crazy bounces and ricochets come down to "that's warehouse ball", but the ledge itself just seems a little anti-competitive (not just for BB but BIP too).
