European exceptionalism … if you don’t like toilet water call it « eau de toilette »…. My saxophone brand is P Mauriat Paris, owned and operated in Taiwan … no French in it whatsoever … it’s very sophisticated… I love JB’s line about « everything synonymous with sophistication has to have a French accent » so well said.
