In this video I source supplies, prep and cut the foam board, cut and fit the wood flooring and get everything ready for epoxy. I have used the velcro to attach my floor twice on my old jon. Worked great with carpet, then hydroturf. Easy for cleaning and changing. Sides on boat do not come off easy, so those stayed. FYI.

Quick question for you. I have a 1648 jon boat with a 40hp merc and about 6 different electricals (fish finder, trolling motor, lights etc). I have 2 dual purpose batteries and a deep cycle battery. Would I be able to run the 1 dual purpose battery for all my needs? Have a dual purpose battery as my cranking and use the deep cycle? Run 2 dual purpose? I wanna find a usage for these rather than drop more money on another battery and have 2 batteries for waste

is the middle of the plywood weaker in the middle from it not being absolutely flat on the boat bottom. i didn’t know if the hole saw cuts was a little deeper would it be better ? i’m trying to do the same thing as you to my 14ft jon boat

The foam underneath supports any flex, it also depends on the thickness of the plywood. Overall, it's really sturdy to walk on. There ways to firm it up even further if you wanted to by running aluminum cross braces but for a simple setup the foam under the plywood is more than enough support.

My boat is a semi V The front ribs do not go perpendicular to the sides. They run along the sides from front to back. Should I just put plywood across them? Inn the middle with a straight edge there would be a 4 inch gap from top of rib to bottom of the v. Is that too much to foam in

That should be fine as long as there isn't a gap between the floor and the foam. You might need a couple layers or possible two different size foamboards to get it right.

I am likely going to stack foamboard under the seats, I dont want to use pour foam for something like this.

You can find it at home Depot, Lowe's etc. It's called insulation board.

I put that kind in my 2001 bass tracker 165…. Took out all that old waterlogged foam and replaced it with that kind

Nice, a lot easier to work with than pour foam in a lot of ways.

Foam in a boat is just a waste of money. All you need is a good billige pump. Enjoy your videos, thanks. I rebuilt a 37 year old Monark boat last year using some of your ideas.

Flotation foam is actually required in boats under 20’ per USCG

Sorry, bilge pumps don't always work, if your battery shorts out due to water you will sink when your bilge pumps fail.
