The thing about Mad Men is that, do you know the feeling you get when you really like the show but you have that buffer that puts you to the state of realization that, "These people are not real -- their personalities and life are made by some guy." But Mad Men, never leaves me with such feeling. Watching Mad Men is like watching your grandmother's story about an event of her life in the 1960s..

If Coke thought the way the classic ad was used was more of a hindrance to their brand than a help - like, if it could be seen as parody or against what they were doing with that ad campaign back in the day. Still probably unlikely, I know. I think it'd have to be pretty strongly, clearly shitting on Coke, and in a way that they'd think could incite too much negative sentiment towards them, outweighing the potential positive effect on their bottom line.

I was fine with the ending. Like the Don character and realized that misogyny was part of the times. But was so sad about the ending for Betty, very sad . Betty reminded me so much of my mother :(

Yea she was a tragic character who was unable to break out of the sphere like Joan and Peggy. It's even sadder that she even started to actually try, but got hit with lung cancer. (The 1 character to actually get it with all the rampant smoking in the show 😂)

I experienced the ending (especially the last 5 episodes) very rushed and jumped over certain storylines. Some strange women comes in, gets into bed with Don. Sometimes I almost would swear I skipped an episode... The ending to the CocaCola cut was very well done. But the road to it was a bit forced.

my take was that the Agency was picking up Coke as a client and they mention this to him as he is running away (again) from the new agency & at the very end, being the quintessential ad man, he concocts this ending in his head (meditating), you see his vision for coke, to present as he returns to madison ave, the genius hero once more! Right?

Loved the sales pitches Don made. The other 95 percent was Hollywood cliche'. Couldn't stand to watch it. Thank goodness for KZfaq! Stopped watching after season 1 and saw what I wanted. Oh, and Roger Sterling, I feel stole the show!!!
