@@mikemugs7 it’s not the amount, it’s the fact it was in his system at all. Turinabol isn’t naturally found anywhere so the only way he could’ve accidentally ingested it is if he took a tainted supplement. That clearly wasn’t the case though as his only defence was that he didn’t ‘knowingly take it’. And although the ‘pulsing’ was in such small amounts he wouldn’t see a performance boost, he was likely able to train harder/longer and get more recovery during the periods when it was fresh in his bloodstream. Steroid use in MMA is typically to allow fighters to train harder and recover better. It’s not really meant for an in-competition performance boost since they’ve always done pre/post fight testing.

@@thiessmonkey I'm a little cloudy on it, but when it happened i researched it heavily. From the head of USADA himself it would be beyond illogical to take Tbol at all when being tested. It stay in your system in 3 different durations and the longest duration is something like 3 months. Jon was being tested at the time over 10-20 times a year. It would make zero sense, there's tons of other compounds that would not only be more effective, but would be much harder to test for

The heavyweight division used to be chiseled with 6 packs on most fighters, now it's mostly fat guys. Don't be dumb. It's proof that idiots will use journalistic privilege to say things that are substantively idiotic from a place of authority and pseudointelligence. He probably got that picogram from badly cut bags of party coke he had mostly cleaned out of himself by then. Every substance in that bag has its own half-life and or rate at which it clears from the body. Very easy to contaminate your body long-term with inconceivably small amounts of all kinds of things when you're getting nose candy from randoms at parties. We contaminate ourselves by some small amount through thermal paper receipts and BPA/PET water bottles, too. The amount in question with Bones answers the question in and of itself. A picogram is a ridiculously small quantity of literally anything. And honestly that just goes to show how good USADA actually is when there's no shenanigans between competitors and test-takers (not the Conor McGregor or Liver King variety).

It is unfair to his opponents. It is unfair to other worthy champions who competed in MMA without any PEDs. That's why it's the biggest question. Sadly it isn't spoken of much at the top level.
