Both of us agreed on a Reyes 1st round and he gave the 3rd to Reyes. All that being said Reyes was obviously Jon’s toughest fight and I think his prime is just about passed. I could see Jon losing a rematch or a different tough opponent next.

He usually starts doing stuff in the 4th and 5th cause it's like he knows (or at least thinks, as shown in this fight) that his opponents arent used to 5 rounds, so he tries to make them tire themselves out by the 4th, but hes also not where he used to be to be doing that

Dont hope for too much. Jon is already 32 in a difficult sport. The way hes fought has always been methodical and its safer to keep doing that but hes been bulkier so if he drops a slight amount of weight I think he will be able to be more active. Depending on how round to was scored it could have been Dominic's win. He dominated the boxing exchange, if it were a boxing match he would have won, but other aspects weigh heavier when judging the fight apparently.

From watching the fight, I viewed Reyes coming out strong in the first round with left hands and some kicks which Jon Jones took the shots very well. Jon Jones was also landing kicks in the first/second round. Dominick came out strong and using his footwork in the second round which continued to give Jones problems. From the third round to the end of the fight it was a back and forth fight, but Reyes started slowing down due to all the movement. Even Joe Rogan stayed that Reyes was slowing down. Once that happened, Jones was dictating the fight and picking him apart.

It's Jon Jones, Dom needed a stoppage or an undeniable dominant performance through 4 rounds at least to secure a win, sadly he just didn't get there, this time. Rematch will be interesting though.

The judges take many things into consideration... this is from the rule book: Judges shall evaluate mixed martial arts techniques, such as effective striking, effective grappling, control of the ring/fighting area, damage, takedowns, effective aggressiveness, and defense.* *Yes, Reyes had better STRIKING for 3 rounds and he was quick to get up after takedowns... But then he ran for 2 rounds and wore out the clock... If Reyes fought the last two like the first 3, there could be no argument... Jones had many more strikes for the Championship rounds, he still put up double digits in the first 3 rounds he only had 6-10 less strikes than Reyes rounds 1 through 3, Jones had multiple takedowns, He was aggressive the entire fight, and he walked Reyes down, stalked him, and walked through his biggest punches, and aggressively pressed Reyes until the final bell. Everyone saw Reyes running away, Jones stalked him and even put up his hands towards the end like "Let's fight man?" Those are the things judges take into consideration as well. It's not just about total striking for half the fight...and running out the clock. Even during the post fight interview, Reyes was more beat up looking than Jones was....*
