Something about Aspinall reminds me a little of Dominick Reyes. Jones has had similar levels of competition. One could argue that Reyes truly won that fight, but it's possible that Jon Jones learned from that fight. I think it would be a war. I only see Aspinall winning on points. Jones could knock him out, but not easily. Most likely result in my opinion- Jones by decision.

@@Leondrius for me it was Reyes round 1, and jones round 4-5 without question. Round 2-3 could have gone either way they were too close to have a definitive winner of those rounds. With close rounds going to secondary scoring criteria for aggression and octagon control that’d have to go to jones holding the center of the cage while walking down Reyes constantly. I think with jones unable to really focus on strength training and wrestling at LHW without worry of not making weight it hindered his preparation towards the end of his reign. At heavyweight he doesn’t have to worry about packing on too much muscle in that regard so it may work in his ground games favor more at HW.

He's absolutely afraid of well-rounded heavyweights. You have to understand the man's psychology and ego. Losing scares him more than anything. Matchups make fights, and that's why he wants no part of Aspinall and other large heavyweights who can wrestle. Alex Pereira is a scary striker, but Jones knows he could easily outwrestle him.

Jon has no interest in fighting them. He can say it's because of their popularity but stipe is as popular as a forgotten sock. Jon doesn't like risk, and stipe is the perfect low risk value opponent Jon wants. I just hope after this fight, BOTH guys retire. I don't think Jones is afraid of them. When he says "they don't get the juices flowing", I think he means the challenge isn't there with the risk vs reward. When he can fight Stipe who is regarded as one other best heavy weights out there having been a champion. That gets the juices flowing more. There is more challenge with that fight, more to win than just a win, and when he wins it will secure his status as the GOAT.

Jon Jones is a paper champion in heavyweight. Ngannou left and he only beat Gane, a heavyweight who looks worse in the division as time goes on. Unless they toss Gane a freebie next fight, he'll be exposed along with Jones. That's the real reason Gane is "making movies" instead of fighting contenders when he's clearly out of the title picture.

The Jones vs Stipe fight doesn't get any MMA fans juices flowing. A belt unification gets our juices flowing. Beating down an old, inactive Stipe doesn't add to his legacy. The CTE is already hitting Stipe hard

Jon isn’t scared but he knows it’s extremely risky especially Tommy.. Tommy is a different type of challenge… it would actually be the most difficult challenge of his entire career and Jones knows this obviously

Doesnt matter about Fear for jon, the main point is he is CHOOSING to fight the OLD GUARD, he doesnt want to fight the new breed of FAST, Feints, and Ground work that we now have, we have 3 new breed Heavyweights that would MURDER prime Stipe. And what are we doing? literally letting a match happen that we ALL know is going to favor Bones. Stipe tried to fucking retire 3 different times already. Its played and pathetic. Bones is N O T the Goat. GSP, Hughes, And the Like deserve it, Jon has been eye poking, Glove Grabbing and Fence grabbing since his first fight. FOH.
