I wear toppers. Started off with synthetic ones but my last two are human hair but they are so expensive. My ideal topper would be low density, human hair with a silk top and lace front, a lot to ask and really hard to find at an affordable price. If anyone can recommend one I would be over the moon.

@@littlem5771 I’m going to try a Belle Tress Lace front topper. It doesn’t tick all the list as it isn’t human hair or has a silk top but all my requirements on a topper would cost me a fortune sadly but I’m pinning my hopes on this being ok 🤞

I own this topper. I had to do so much work on it before I was happy with it. Thinning, steaming the tight 'Shirley Temple' ringlets out when it first arrived. Too much permatease for my liking, as well. Now, I do wear and like it. It is still dense enough to cover my bio hair even with the thinning I did. Yours definitely looks better than mine did.

Yes I have the straight, but the wavy is nice for some texture! Since it’s synthetic it keeps the style even after washing

Great review.. it’s absolutely beautiful on you. Thank you for the review on your length hair. I have the same hair length and I too have thinning issues..I am tossing back and forth between 12 and 18. Suggesting you might try your lashes shorter so as to flip and lift your lids ...giving a wing look, these longer ones sorta bring your beautiful eyes down..but again, stunning and great review ❤️

Great review - I’ve always been worried about both JR synthetic & HH bc I have read about the tangling issue and that is my #1 pet peeve with alternative hair. This is GORGEOUS on you & does look realistic! Do you know if there is an ashier version of these colors?

In Browns or Blondes? Hot Cocoa (8RH14) is a Medium Brown accented with Ash Blonde highlights and is similar to the one I got, but with ashy highlight instead of the reddish brown that you see in Toffee Truffle. Shaded Mocha is also a beautiful ashy brown/blonde. I love that color but for my warmer skin tone it clashes a bit - I used it in this other topper video (although this is human hair which is going to be warmer than a synthetic) kzfaq.info/get/bejne/pMB4ZdqCxLzUmIk.html

I’ve never done it, but I have heard of of people adding bangs! It’ll take away from some of the density though, if you redirect some do the hair to the front vs the sides though so keep that in mind

Great review! The topper is beautiful. I have the top style. I have always wanted to try out a lace front topper so I don't have to do the whole trying to blend my own hair with concealer, root powder and more. I would wear a darker color. The color you are showing is not too light. It looks really realistic on you. Are the knots visible in the front?

There's a section where I show the part and the hair line super close up. You can see the knots, but if you're sensitive to that you can do the concealer knot cover trick in this video kzfaq.info/get/bejne/kMWcmMiJy6iyk2g.html, it works on toppers too. Anything with lace/mono part :)

If I were to trim the lace off, would it blend with my bio hair in the front? My bangs still look decent even though the rest of my hair is super thin. I’m only 26 but I suffered massive hair loss from Covid. I miss feeling pretty 😭

This looks fantastic!! I just got my Jon Renau Mackenzie wig in Caramel kiss. So pretty. So this topper has good coverage? Can you cut any type of bangs into this at all? My hair is very thing, shoulder length. So I need a really good coverage topper. Love your youtube channel!! very informative!! :)

Thanks! Yes, you can cut bangs into this topper, but I would have it done at a salon, as this hair won’t grow back if you cut too short! Then I’d follow up with some steam on the bangs to train them to fall in front of the face!

I actually do have a belle tress topper, but I can’t wear it because my hair is so short and it is so much lower density in the back. It’s a beautiful topper - i got it before I cut my hair way short. If you have similar length to the topper and color (since your hair will show) it’s a beautiful piece

I purchased this topper and am having issues with the ends being very coarse and dry. Tried using the silicon spray to no avail. Any tips you could suggest?

I will say I too find this topper to tangle more than my others- just taking it out of the box in this video I had to comb it a lot. I was actually planning to do a deep conditioning treatment with Bambu Silicone Mix on her this weekend!! I’ll update you on whether or not that gives the fibers more moisture!

Oh you look like a movie star! This is gorgeous on you and the color is perfect! I think if I try this piece I will remove the front three clips and use It Stays on the front lace, to make it more comfortable. Do you find that it’s comfortable as is, and do you plan on using the front clips?

You are so sweet!! I’m 100% with you on removing the clips. I like gluing lace down in general on toppers and I think that you’re idea would give a nicer fit. A topper could have 400 clips and I’d still glue the lace down 🤣 I think I’m stealing your idea and will do an update after removing the clips!!

You can, you just have to be super careful to cover the base. My hair is so much short than this topper so I personally can’t- it would be so obvious- but if your hair is a similar length and color it would work. This just has a big base that’s more difficult to cover than something like easy part.

This particular topper was dryer than most from the box- but also the least shiny. It’s held up really well, I just make sure to incorporate silicon mix into my washing routine!

There is also a 12” version of wavy, and a 12” or 8” straight version - but if you want something longer than 12” you can definitely cut (or have a stylist cut) this topper to blend with your hair!

The top smart does have a bit of permatease in it - but I feel like it's a little bit necessary given the waves and needing to have some body

I’m new to toppers and I just got my Jon Renau Top Smart 18” (non-wavy) today. I’m really struggling with it because I can’t get it to lay flat against my head and the fibers all fall forward. I’ve watched so many videos and I didn’t realize it would be this difficult. I wonder what I’m doing wrong.

I have this issue too sometimes, and I find the removable clips help. I glue all my toppers down anyways, and I feel like you can really mold it to your head that way. Sometimes if you stretch it funny it makes the lace wrinkle a little. Even if I leave the clips on I still glue the lace down and it helps. What do you mean by fibers fall forward? If you’ve set the part and combed it out, they should fall normally

@@TheWiggyWoman I played around with the topper today and realized that it just doesn't fit my head. I'm tall but I thought I had an average sized head. Guess not! lol! When I match my hairline to the lace the permatease section sits on top of my head like a point and all the hair falls forward. When I pushed it back about an inch or so, everything fell into place and I saw what it was supposed to look like.

@@ashipper8223 I wondered if you’ve found a better fit for your head. I recently bought a Top Full, by Jon Renau, which has a 11”x11” fully hand tied cap. This is the ultimate! I love it so much more than the Top Style I usually wear. Very stretchy, comfortable and accommodating- but it doesn’t have a lace front.

@@anony761 Yes, it’s definitely possible to make a no-lace piece work. I’ve read comments by people who dislike lace fronts- though they have no hair in the front. Amore is one brand that has a good selection of wigs with a mono part but no lace. In every case, the style sweeps over the forehead so that the hairline doesn’t show, yet the hair stays out of your eyes. In the case of toppers, you could train the front with a blow brush- I do this all the time. Also, you can trim in some wispy bangs if they need to cover the center of the hairline. It does sound like the topper was too small for your head. I’ve heard of this before as well. What kind was it? If you’re handy, you can easily buy wigs and cut them into toppers for a custom fit and much better selection. If it fits, then you can use the lace. Hope this helps!

If you want something unique, it may be easiest to get a platinum blonde topper and have it custom colored - or get a custom topper. I'm curious if this color would work for someone that has dark brunette hair almost black? My hair is long so I don't know if it would show through and look odd.

I honestly think it would work great because this is a high density full coverage topper. It’ll just give it more dimension. If your hair is long and would be blended with the topper, I think it would work like lowlights and really have a nice multi faceted color effect!!
