Ah man, this is painful to watch. Two of my rugby heroes, both now gone. Met Joost after the Ireland game in 2000 in the Temple Bar district. He stood and chatted with a drunk star struck 19 year old for at least 20 minutes. Will never forget that. Rest well you two greats of the game.

Two of the brightest stars in world rugby! Never had I seen a winger of Lomu's pace & physical stature & never had I seen a scrum half of Van Der Westhuizen's size & power. Sport can be so rewarding & life so fucking cruel! Keep on fighting Joost & RIP Jonah.

Two great legends of the game, so much respect for each other. Jonah was the true superstar of rugby, amazing athlete not just as a rugby player but as an athlete he was amazing. 6"5 260lbs of pure muscle, speed power grace agility he had it all. Joost probably the greatest no9 in rugby history, he won the World Cup by stopping Jonah had he not newzealand would've won the World Cup with try

As a man of Joost's stature I can only look up to such a man. But as an All Black supporter I feel for Lomu, this is an amazing video. When Lomu said "I love you" I shed tears. Beautiful statement to the best game on earth. Memories of the World Cup Semi Final 2015 string to mind, one of the best games I've ever seen.
@theroogie6 жыл бұрын
I'm a Springbok supporter and I have no problem with losing that 2015 semi final. That was easily one of the greatest games of rugby ever played and there has to be a loser at the end of the game. Could have gone either way and there is no better team to lose to.

My word... how powerful is this... two of the giants of the game in recent times but still such humble people. I may not have been one of the lucky few to have known them personally but these guys always make me cry with their humility and preparedness to help others, even at the worst of times. It also makes me appreciate what the MacMillan staff and all of the staff at Darlington Memorial Hospital in the UK did for my Mum; and they continue to do it every day... thank you to all carers out there...paid or otherwise. You are loved.
