I've seen Groff three times: in Hamilton (2015), Little Shop of Horrors (2019) & Merrily We Roll Along (last weekend). He's a great talent (and seems like a nice guy). Happy for his success.

His biggest flaw is being best friend with Lea Michele :-(
@hummersd9 ай бұрын
Yes! Came here to say the same, except he had already left Hamilton to do the Looking movie finale, so I saw him at a concert he did in SF later that year. Just saw him in Merrily last week and he was fantastic (as was the entire production)! The actors didn't come out for stage door (opening happened a couple of days prior), so I still have a goal of getting a pic with him without his bike helmet. lol.

Maggie Gyllenhaal is one of the most underrated artist in the industry working today. She's a fantastic actress, I enjoyed many of her movies she's in. The fact that she branch out her career in becoming a writer and director and her debut was fantastic, i'm so proud of her. I hope people will recognise Maggie's talent a lot more just like her brother, Jake. If she wants to direct more, I'm there! The Lost Daughter was one of my favourite movies of 2021

The deuce was phenomenal and we need a third and fourth season of mindhunter to wrap things up I know David fincher originally wanted five seasons but at least one more season or a 3-hour movie something to close it up

Variety has released a lot of Actors on Actors in the last few days. Usually, the actors are discussing very recent projects, and yet, these recent videos seem like older material. Then, I realized that actors are on strike, so some of them aren't doing these kinds of interviews. When Groff mentions at the end of the interview that he's 33, I looked up his age, and now he's 38. So this interview is 5 years old. It is a pretty good interview. I do wonder whether some actors, despite thinking a lot about their characters and trying to give each role nuance still come across as the same kind of person because they lack range as an actor. It's like you watch Michael Caine and regardless of the character he plays, it's still noticeably Michael Caine. He's good enough that you don't mind it.

I was literally gonna be like wow this can’t be recent as I just saw him on stage and he looks much older (but still great).

it's such a shame that jonathan groff was presenting mindhunter there, but that show is unapologetically canceled now

I think Maggie was so wise to ensure her input would be heard and valued before she undertook the role of a sex worker after only seeing three complete scripts. A younger and less experienced actor may have jumped at the chance to be part of a project and then may have found herself being asked to perform in ways that felt extremely uncomfortable. The use of intimacy coaches has also seemed to improve the conditions on some sets based on feedback I've heard from actors. I love that a young and less experienced actor may learn from Maggie. Granted a less experienced actor may have to accumulate some good roles and performances in order to be able to make requests of a director/producer, but it just goes to show that the ability to produce a respected body of work can lead an actor to a place when their views and input are valued.

The weird connection that I made just to show you how small Hollywood is: She's Jake's Sister who is basically Uncle Jake to Matilda, Heath's daughter with Michelle Williams who is now married to Tommy Kail...🤯

Why is Variety releasing all these Actors on Actors from 5, 6 , 7 years ago.......you can tell by the shows that these are way old........it is kind of bait and switch thinking we are getting new content. This stuff is all already on KZfaq.......
@variety9 ай бұрын
Actually, we realized these were never published! So, we wanted to push them out, so they were available to watch and enjoy

@@variety my apologies all around although I thought I had seen the Jeff Daniels/Laura Linney that came out this week, I swore I had seen that...if it is new I will look forward to it! Thank you! Our only feedback is the public wishes they wer an hour long!

It was, but someone made it private for the last few years for whatever reason so we decided to make it public again.
