When he took that break before he said "ALLLL THIIIINGS!" He had this look of "I've never been more embarrassed and I now feel dead inside."

Live theater fuck ups are the BEST... when they don't happen to you. I'll never forget the sheer terror of dropping an entire verse of a song on opening night. I just stood there with my mouth open and everyone else danced around me looking at me like "o fuck"

I did a show at a tiny theatre with a similarly tiny cast (me and three guys) and we had a pre-recorded soundtrack. During the opening number I missed a word by about two beats and fucked up the next verse and chorus for all of us. Absolutely mortifying!

I was doing a play and in the VERY first scene ever, we were supposed to come out holding fans and then flip them open (first ever live performance), and it was a VERY serious scene, like dark intense scene, and as I went to flip my fan open, it flew right out of my hand. And I couldn't like, calmly bend down and pick it up as I was on a stairway and it fell off the stairway

If so, I was Bernada and in the end scene when Adela is supposed to break the cane, the cane wouldn't break (it had a specially designed screw thing) so she was standing there trying to unscrew it and the audience started laughing and all of a sudden she literally snaps it in half and it breaks into shards and everyone starts laughing harder and clapping her haha

Tell me about it! Once during the opening night of a play I was casted as one of the leads in, I totally forgot a line that was substantial to the entire plot of the play. I stared at the other lead for a second, made up something on the fly, and we had to go along with it to get back to the actual plot of the play.

Theatre mess ups are hilarious when it's not you lol. Recently I was in Willy Wonka jr and I was backstage during the beginning of the fizzy lifting drink scene, and veruca salt says she wants bubble that taste like candy. Wonka was supposed to say the bubbles taste like soap for children with dirty mouths, but he accidentally said the bubbles taste like children and he took forever to fix it and I was literally crying with laughter backstage trying to compose myself before I entered😂😂😂

HAHAHAHA!!! In case no one sees my actual comment I was in the Sound of Music as Marta in sixth grade, and there were 4 casts of the show run by the one company. And there’s a line where Kurt is supposed to say “I’m Kurt I’m eleven and I’m incorrigible.” Then Maria says “Congratulations.” Then he’s supposed to ask “What’s incorrigible?” And Maria goes “I think it means you want to be treated like a boy.” So Kurt from the second cast(I was 3rd), said during one of the shows on accident. “I’m Kurt I’m eleven and I’m a boy.” Maria paused then said “Congratulations.” I saw this show and his face immediately had so much regret, as there was a pause and he slowly said “What’s a boy?” And Maria had to answer and said it means what you think it means.😂😂😂😂

I was Dorothy in The Wizard of Oz recently and thank god this was during rehearsal and not the show, but this scene was when we're talking to the wizard and I was supposed to say "Because you are great and powerful, and we are small and weak, except for maybe the lion." But during rehearsals the night before opening night I say "except for maybe the scarecrow" and so the scarecrow just vigorously shakes his head to say no and the orchestra and everyone is laughing and I can't figure out why. Finally after a few seconds I realize what I said and try to cover it up with "and maybe also the lion!" It was awful but so funny

that would be a stage manager fuck up. they shouldn't have called that automation cue until the actor was safely clear of the stair, it's their responsibility to pay attention and not call cues on autopilot. i wouldn't want to be the SM writing that performance report afterward... that is a major safety concern. even if it was the crew that responded too early, the SM is the head of the team and has to take responsibility for that happening on their watch.

This reminded me of a great fuck up. I was in Beauty and the Beast as a Silly Girl. We were doing the Mob Song/Battle scenes and our Gaston is singing and the line goes, "...through the darkness and the shadows it's a nightmare, but it's one exciting ride." He ends up singing. "It's a darkmare but it's one exciting ride." And we are supposed to be angry and a mob, but we are all containing our laughter. We never let him live it down. THEN!!! Later on that same show date I was accidentally hit in the face and pushed down during the same scene. Silly girls were violent. The push happened while I was delivering my bigger line of the few I had. The slap happened during our fight and she didn't mean to actually hit me, but it happens! 😂😂😂

Carlie Mae i was just in my school's production of les mis and on the last day of the show, during the cart crash scene, instead of the cart hitting the guy it was supposed to hit, it swerved somehow and crashed into me. it took all i had to not burst into tears from pain/not laugh from the hilarity of the incident 😂😂

When I was in a production of Beauty and The Beast 5 years ago we had a really elaborate castle set that was borrowed from a company in the city and so we had to be very careful with it. On the closing night the mirror accidentally fell of the balcony during Gaston and the Beast's fight and completely shattered on the floor below. Everyone who was in the audience thought that it was on purpose! It was so dramatic and symbolic - it was honestly so perfect for that scene! It made it a million times better and more epic! Although I was the one who had to tell the backstage crew that it was broken... ahhhhhhh good times, I miss being in productions...But I can't sing, act or dance for shit, so I can't be in anything but the chorus #TheStruggle
