The Clark Sisters always give their all when they sing but you can see how much it meant to them to sing for Aretha's funeral, from Karen being unable to speak in the beginning, to Dorinda's speaking for the group, Jacky smiling at the memory of singing with her, and Twinkie tearing up behind the organ. Not to mention Aretha sang at their mother's funeral 20+ years before, and before then Twinkie sang this same song for Rev. Franklin's funeral. What a way for them to show their appreciation to their friend.
@mamam38966 жыл бұрын
A black funeral is way different from white funeral, I watched this service and McCain's service and saw completely different cultures
@denischabriddell87686 жыл бұрын
As long as the Lord is invited it's a beautiful celebration of life. I was blessed by both Aretha's and Senator John McCain's service's. May the Lord give each family peace and comfort during this season of loss.

It's not limited to funerals, black people in general are entertaining. You'll always see extra and the most.

Yes but why cant it be accepted? It is nothing wrong with different cultures.It is such ashame.
@jbenjamin595 жыл бұрын
Estella Butler let’s retry this statement....cause that’s a stereotype that we have endured for generations because “others” looked at the normalcy of our culture and found it curios and entertaining. But when ur not well rounded u find things like this entertaining
@estellabutler54245 жыл бұрын
@@jbenjamin59 Thanks for re-wording, but the content is the same. Only black people extend a five minute song into a fifteen minute song by screaming and hollering. Didn't say there was anything wrong with it, I said it's entertainment and their extra behavior applies everywhere.

It takes a lot of courage and strength to sing at anyones funeral for someone that was dear to your heart. Imagine putting your grief to the side and singing your heart out. When you know you are anointed by the Lord you can't help but sing for his Glory. Wow! Always will be my favorite gospel group. The legendary Clark Sisters!!!!

That run was so sweet at 3:43, some type of melodic minor run beautiful to my hears.

I still watch this even a year & 1/2 later! I love This whole performance & it never gets old. Jacky holding down the low part. Dorinda w/ her subtle, sweet, jazzy riffs & Adkins. Karen doing the amazing things only she can do. The legendary Twinkie on the organ & giving you that growl & holler. Kierra coming through strong w/ the background vocals. J Drew on drums. And who ever was on bass was killing it!
