I learned to ride on the S2. I used a belt to pull it up when I stepped off. That way I didn't damage it at all while learning.

Man, I wish I had read your comment before I started learning on my new S1. It now looks 5 years old, but it's only 8 days old :(

How did you us a belt? Loop it through the handle, so you can hold it up, if you jump off?
@1eBenc5 жыл бұрын
I learned on s2, too. With the belt across the carrying handle. I have dropped only once - when I've forgot the disengagement switch "on" and I pulled the belt accidentally during riding... since that, I keep the disengaging function switched off when I use the belt... :)
@gdaaps5 жыл бұрын
how does the trick work, can you explain
@fluxcapacitor4 жыл бұрын
@@1eBenc This makes no sense to me to switch the auto-disengagement off when using a belt across the handle, since the last thing you want is to see the wheel continue to roll on its own if, for whatever reason, you have fallen from the pedals. Quickly lifting the belt in this case would immediately stop the wheel thanks to the auto-disengagement feature.

Depends what you are looking for. I love the S2. Looks great and rides really well. I use it for town and city riding. If going off road I use the E+. Speed about the same but I never go full speed. I've had too many painful falls for that!

Thanks for the review Jonathan. I'm considering the S2 but I'm concerned about your summary comments regarding not being for beginners due to frequency of dropping / damaging the device when learning. The training time sounds quite short though, do you know of any accessories coming out that would protect the device as you learn?
@Quieromuchachas7 жыл бұрын
Rich Mitch I have the one C+. It came with bumpers. You could probably buy bumpers to cover the S2 while learning. However, I'm with Jonathan on not learning on these beautiful devices.

Would it be reasonable to speed a bit extra to get a proper skin on the S2, were someone to consider "learning to ride"? Or would it be better to just spend the extra on a One E+

***Has any user noticed that without the leg rests the S2 is harder to ride and more of a strain than that of the E+, or is it that noticeable?*** Please note I do not own either model yet, just making my decision which to buy here. Another question I have is, as an ex-skateboarder who now has a major ankle injury and disease(CRPS) for life(can sometimes no longer walk for 1 day, and up to 3 weeks consecutively and all from a fall at work). So I have major ankle and back pain and I cannot rotate the ankle or take any intense movement. Anyway, how dangerous is it to injure yourself or your ankle on this, or does anyone think riding would to irritate an ankle that does not move very well? I will only be riding this to get around the city and keep in mind I was a very good skateboarder of 30 years, and even just until a few years ago(like I know how to bail and have great balance, style, grace, vision and creativity etc. blah blah). Any input would be greatly appreciated from another rider/user of these models, and hopefully taking my condition into consideration. Like is it practical or is it too sporty, and in a different league for a 40 year old with a cane who has troublw walking in Toronto? I mean I can stand but only for so long, walking is the same, like need to rest every 3-5 minutes. I think this awesome device might just take the strain off of regular walking for me. So thanks ahead of time folks for any of your comments and considerations. Peace and Praises to you a!! !

l8on99 hey there I don't own one but I've heard that the practise on it is pretty hard and maybe not for you. P.s. I think you should ask on other videos cause this one is not that popular and only people that do not own the wheel are here ☺

Ciao How can I reset the ninebot one s2 wheel to factory settings?
@bmoon53427 жыл бұрын
I am a total beginner and in US, they sell S2 as One S1, anyways, no padding made it so hard to learn... it hurt my ankles so bad... I bought wall pads a few days ago, and stuck on S1, and it's much better now. I think S1 is worse than E looking at your video... I think u r absolutely right. they designed S for looks, not for functionality... who cares about looks?!.. I want to ride better and comfortable.

I thought I speedyfeet said it was about 1 mph slower than the E+. My real world gps confirmed e+ speed is 14mph so I'm guessing the S2 will do closer to 13 mph. The ninebot app overestimates the speed.
@st1tch4988 жыл бұрын
I think you are right. On the app it says it limits the speed at just short of 15 mph but I have never gone to the lengths of tracking it on another gps. My E+ seems to max out at 12mph. Truth is, I very rarely ride them at full speed as I value the skin on my face, hands and knees!
@CitiWheel8 жыл бұрын
Yea any speed above 10 mph is going to be hard to run off safely. My friend broke is radius falling off a ninebot e+ going top speed. I broke my collar bone on a gotway msuper going over 15 mph.
