As someone nearing 50 I looooove this foundation! But I don’t have a lot of skin imperfections to cover up. But I have seriously dry skin, and I get why someone with oily skin wouldn’t like it. I really rub it into my face with my hands, though, like I would skincare. Then it works great. Oh, skip the moisturiser as well, the foundation will do that for you

I waited for the new blush or flush Jones Road product (I don’t have the jar at my fingertips).. I busted out for 2 shades, the natural, and the pink shades.. I detest them both. It smells really funky..I get wet coffee grounds scent, it’s very sticky and tacky. And apart from a sort of glowy look, it did nothing for me. The hype on this product was intense, and it’s just nothing.. a smelly pot of goo.. no Jones Road for me.. Cassie us spot on

Hi🤗. Bobbi brown was the first person to come out with the “natural look”, with lots of browns and beiges and neutrals. It was refreshing after a decade of way too much purple and blue and pink and green and... I believe that’s what she became known for. Then everyone else followed her lead. So good to see you so happy, and I love watching you and “Hotdish” Dan together. He sure loves you!💕💗

I think you’re right it’s has air of wax and oils in the formula so it likely it needs to be emulsified with your fingers : body heat. So it’s also probably not great with most popular primers on the market

Thank you for your review. I've been considering this foundation since my skin has been in flux. I often feel foundations sit on top of my skin and don't blend. I typically have similar skin and wanted some opinions from like skinned individuals. I will wait on Jones Road. I like the idea of it, especially the simplicity, but my skin seems too sensitive now to add another foundation to the trash pile. Hoepfully, my skin will level out or I will come to an understanding with it. Thank you for the content, opinion, demos and research. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving!

I don’t have this but I love the miracle balm! I just don’t think these are for everyone, but it’s my jam. I think I’d like this, but I wear my foundation pretty light and sheer. Seems like anything more is too much for this. This also seems like fingers would be best for application.

The first day, your skin looked glowy and smooth. I reckon it didn't pair well with primers. I'd use it alone with concealer on top, and minimal powder. BTW, Jones Road target is mature skin and minimal/natural make-up users.

The Jones Road aesthetic is to only use produce where you need it- not at all over. Also, it has lots of natural waxes because it doesn’t have preservatives. It’s just not made to be used by anyone who is a human being or wears makeup like a person. It’s unusable.

i have this foundation and i really like it. you need to really rub it into your skin with your fingers first and blend it very well. your hand heat really helps to melt the product into your skin. then if i want, i’ll go over it with a brush or a clean dry sponge to make sure there’s no finger streaks. damp sponge will make it patchy and splotchy since the foundation is mostly silicone and oil. i can’t just do all the blending with a brush or the foundation will get caked into it like what happened to you. fingers first really well, then brush or sponge

So bummed you didn’t like this. I really enjoy it, but I think I’m quite a bit older than you (40). That may have something to do with it, as I think it is designed with mature skin in mind. Great review, shoddy product. Thanks but I'll continue to use my W&W tinted hydrator, lol. I can buy at least 6 for the price of this one yet have the product perform. I was also worried about the shade they matched to you, lol. That was crazy. The only product I bought and loved from BB was her gel pot liners. Yrs back I got an amazing deal through QVC (think that's the one she's affiliated with 🤷‍♀️). Anyhoo I recieved 2 pot liners. 1 in black 1 in brown. It came with the little applicator brush. The set also came with one of her mascaras in a mini size. That, I did NOT like. It's sad that she sold her brand because once it was bought they messed up the liners formula. Prior to being reformulated that liner was the only one that would stay put for HRS in my waterline. While I'm not someone who's into spending a lot of money on one product if I don't have to I made an exception for that liner. Thanks for sharing that "get paid" info. That's something I didn't hear/read about once this product came out. Agree. Left a bad taste in my mouth. Thanks for the honest review... 👍

This is a natural competitor to the boom stick. And, Bobbi loves a natural soft glow. She wants us to embrace. Did you see her models?? Why would you pick this. Also I like you in The Estee Lauder and blur powders like Huda. This is marketed to dry skin and used sparingly. Its a good product for a very specific balm lover low maintained skin. Not a full beat.

Nope, you’re not the only one who was rubbed the wrong way with paying an influencer to advertise on tik tok! I don’t use tik tok, but I did see the video by Meredith and the follow up video Bobbi Brown posted about Meredith using too much of it. Did Meredith use way too much? Absolutely. But that’s kinda what she’s known for… What really got me was the unprofessional response from BB calling her out. This is a woman who has had her own brand for years…surely she should know you can’t please everyone, right?! Not everyone will like the product, nor will everyone use it correctly. It was just unnecessary how BB handled it by mocking Meredith and also how she resorted to advertising paying people to say good things about a product that clearly isn’t being received well (with or without Meredith’s video!) Ok, stepping off my soap box now 😂
@jaime9353
@jaime9353 Жыл бұрын
Ok but she didn’t use it as intended…if Meredith used the foundation correctly and gave a review based on that Bobbi Brown wouldn’t have clapped back…you have to understand that this is her BUSINESS her livelihood, her good name..a product she believes in …a company she has worked to build for years… as many followers that Meredith has she didn’t give it a fair shot. Meredith is an influencer…BB is a MUA. It’s business…
@WinterIsWelcome
@WinterIsWelcome Жыл бұрын
@@jaime9353 I get what you’re saying, but as a business person BB would know she can’t please everyone. What is BB going to do? Go after every single person who doesn’t use it correctly or who doesn’t like it? Meredith isn’t the only influencer with tons of followers who tried this. The fact that Meredith used more than recommended brought attention to the product more-the saying there’s no such thing as bad press applies here. People then flocked to get the product because of the controversy and her business was booming…so much so that even Cassie had a long wait to get her shade. All that publicity benefited BB until more people reviewed the product and hated it. There are more negative reviews out there from folks who tried it and think it’s a shoddy product. Hence why I suspect BB is telling folks she’ll pay for a positive review. BB’s response to Meredith ended up hurting her in the end. People simply don’t like this product. If she wants to save her livelihood, she should start by making better quality products.
@jaime9353
@jaime9353 Жыл бұрын
@@WinterIsWelcome I seen mixed reviews..some people liked it some didn’t but Meredith used the whole jar on her face…I don’t think BB got upset at any of those other reviews because she understands make up isn’t one size fits all thing but she was definitely annoyed by Meredith’s intentional misuse I think. Good point though she probably did get lots of sales out of all the controversy. They both learned a lesson from this hopefully. 😉

This looks like it would work best on dry exfoliated skin….it’s too emollient for certain skin types. As for the advertising lots of brands do this quietly via private messaging and emails..at least they aren’t being sneaky about it. It’s out there for everyone and not just popular/famous influencers/people who get PR. They aren’t telling people to lie. If you enjoy the product get paid …if you lie just to get money well that’s on you not BB.

@aprilmaldo5652
@aprilmaldo5652 Жыл бұрын
@@jennyamato498 below It doesn't feel right that you always list the shade range as a con, especially if it doesn't affect you. Here's why: 1. Not all shades would result in the same final product. It's possible the formula would be compromised with more/less pigment. Some brands want to preserve their reputation for putting out great product, and won't if the result isn't 100% satisfactory across all shades. 2. Brands test the market. Sometimes putting out a limited line makes sense to see if it's successful and/or there's a demand for more. Extending a full line at launch is risky and becomes a deficit if they have to pull back. It's smart business. 3. Arm swatches (specifically these), it makes sense to have them NOT match the arm, which sounds a bit strange, but if they did match, you wouldn't be able to see them as boldly. This is done deliberately to give the consumer an idea of the light/med/deep RANGE, not to show matches. No shade, but I thought it was worth sharing since you make it a part of your final review every time. It seems you're trying to preach the 'let's be all inclusive', which I support, but sometimes there are reasons and it's not always a political issue. I do think it's worth sharing the available ranges, but making it a pro/con seems misleading unless the brand has addressed it.
