Joni attempts a textured Nuno felt top, using minimum superfine merino and lots of different fabrics, as embellishment. The garment is rolled using The Gentle Roller and fulled in the GR's Rumbler fulling drum.

Interesting. I have a bag of silk neck ties, and was thinking I would do some samples to see how they rouche using my sheeps wool (Romney/Merino Cross). This makes me feel much more confident that I may get some good results. Thanks for this! p.s. love the roller... would love to be able to get one someday.

Hi the silk ties may be too dense. I have a whole bag of offcuts too that I haven't used. If you try it and have success please let me know. Cheers 😊

@@jonicornell-mersilk No joy!! The fabric is just too densely woven. I even cut small slits in a piece to try to get it to bind, but it just worked loose. If I laid enough wool over it to get it to bind, I was completely covering the silk! Argh!

@@missioncreekfarm7715 Yes I thought it would bring grief. ;) You don't want too much fibre covering the beautiful silks either. My suggestion is Boro. Stitch small pieces to an underlying fabric. Lots of great examples on Pinterest.

@@jonicornell-mersilk Interesting. I was considering using a "crazy quilt" approach, whish it seems Boro is similar.
