you could fill the gap with some wood putty. it comes in different colors you can mix to match the color. i dont know if that would affect the tone though. or if youre really handy you could cut a piece of alder, sand it down to fit and glue it in place. that opening is just a big eye sore in my opinion. otherwise, nice job. sounds really good!

I want to learn how to do this. I think if I buy an american professional standard tele HS, i won't have to route the wood for the lace sensor red humbucker , and I'll just have to find another cover for the tone controls. Can you please tell me which parts you used, TBX Fender tone controls inside? obviously LS blue for the neck pickup and red humbucker for the bridge, but did you change the bridge itself to a modern bridge, or other ? what else did you do to it? please help me out. I really want to modify one! Thank you so much! of course i would still be coming out about the same price as a vintage 90s Tele plus, for all the parts and the American Tele, but atleast I'd have a brand new guitar. haha

Hello I was planning to buy a fender modern player and change the pickups lace sensor that uses jonny and pickguard. also would not have the hole that has yours. and paint it also I think it is more like the modern player has the freetboard more Yellow equal to jonny and has 22 frets. What do you think? Or cover the hole with the putty if it was a standard telecaster to save the paint but a fret would be missing. Excuse me for my english but i use the translator because i don't speak english.
