This table is worth $6000 or more, but I'm giving it to my family. Is a glass river table better than epoxy? I'll show you how to build this live edge river dining table with glass inlay for my wife. I could sell this table easily for $6000, but I'm keeping this one. I made this dining table out of two cottonwood live edge slabs with a blue tinted glass inlay and a welded steel mid century modern style table base. I built this live edge glass river dining table for my wife to have in our formal dining room. This live edge glass river dining table was built over the course of 8 months.

I am a beginner to woodwork, the main test I have with this bundle kzfaq.infoUgkxTNB_zFBSnTo_O1PqfVUwgi7ityw0JlKt is that I think that its hard to settle on a choice of the plan and outline to use as there are a large portion of them there. Nonetheless, I like the simple stride to step directions laid out there.

This was perfect as a vanity desk for me. kzfaq.infoUgkxMAlHv7-BBWMrPRm5-uEoD6rtdT7SG2Qr Especially the glossy finish. Easy to cleanI was looking for something that wasn't the traditional white and with more of a modern feel. This fit the bill beautifully. I put it together with no problems, by myself in under an hour.Make sure you double check where you place the drawer tracks before screwing down. I had one track that needed to be aligned with different holes than the rest.

I built my first computer desk for my daughter with 2 x 6’s but ordered the legs online. Pretty much the first thing I’ve built from scratch with wood it looks great and better still my daughter had tears when I took it down to her room and installed it. That was worth it’s weight in gold, now I see her using it everyday to draw on and do her school work for college. Nothing makes me happier than to see her using it everyday 👍👍👍 awesome table build and I agree 2020 was a stinker and 2021 wasn’t much better here’s a toast to 2022 being a good recovery for everyone!!!!!

Saw the bark on the slabs and immediately went wait is someone finally using cottonwood?! Awesome I use that all the time as it is real common where I am in Montana. If you are looking at more of it be careful for thickness of the bark. The thicker it is the more "wind checked" the wood is. This causes a bunch of micro cracking weakening the wood and normally for how fast they grow that is why they come down within about 30ish years

I've looked at Cottonwood before, but I've always steered away because it's so soft. I went with epoxy over the custom glass, ~$140 for epoxy, my quote here in Ohio was $550 for a similar blue glass cut on a CNC.

@@mikemcdonald4813 The glass would be tempered I guess. Another thought would be again a plate underneath then a ribbon of LED lights and then a layer of the broken glass you'd get from a car windscreen. It could look all sparkly and undulating if the light had some movement with it. Wish I had a workshop, I'm so jealous of this man.

It's a beautiful table! Great project, nice shop! I would have made the table with separate supports for each slab that are linked laterally mid-height underneath, so that no part of the bottom support would be visible under the slabs and the glass. Also, does Glazing Concept bend glass 90 degrees? I think the table would look more finished if the two ends of the glass were bent 90 degrees down to the thickness of the slabs. Hence, the corner edges would have to be rounded to conform with the small radius of the bent glass, instead of chamfering.
