You're welcome that's awesome! I suggest buying some of those metal mesh screens to put in tub and sink drains to catch hair. I put some in my sink and tub and haven't had any more clogs since!

Omggggg yessssss thank you! We have been using a stepping stool to stand in the shower because we didn’t want to pay 200 for a plumber and after this video I spent $40 and unclogged it in like 10 minutes! This video was so fast and got to the point. I didn’t need to skip through it at all and I’m so happy to have a clean un clogged shower 💕💕🙌🙌 they have these at home depo!

David same here I'm rentin a house that was built in 1940 and only had one owner since it was built...she passed away a few months ago at I think either 94 or 96 years old ...it was her parents house ...she was too old to keep up with maintenance on it so everything is ancient in this house 😂 ...heck it's so old that it didn't even have an outlet or vent for a dryer til I moved in and my cousin (also my landlord) had them put in for me

Thank you so much! I had used a snake drain down the actual drain. I never thought to use the overflow opening! Got an auger and viola! No more clog. Tons of hair came out!!

Yes it really does work. I just did it and it works better. please note you must "after you pour the baking soda and vinegar sit for 20mins then pour the hot water ".

Thanks Jonny DIY Great video, very easy and it worked 100% I had a tub that very frequently clogged, I rent an older home which the landlord neglects to fix properly. After spending probably over $200 dollars in the last couple of years of liquid clog remover which seems to only work for a short time, I decided to look at better ways of clearing and maintaining a drain. I came across your video and took your advice. You said remove the overflow plate and stuff a piece of cloth inside the pipe to seal off the airflow and then plunge the tub drain. It took a little extra force and a few minutes of work but finally the clog released and my shower/tub is draining the best it's been since I started renting 9 years ago. Thanks again for your handy tips and expertise. Looking forward to seeing more videos of DIY.

Tysm!!! Ive had back to back problems with the drain in my tub, and on top of that I just pulled up another one of my little god brother's toys. It took me almost an hr to get the water down and then i searched and found this. This method works better than pouring chemicals down the drain!! My tub is working better than ever!

@@rebel8440 Yes! It really works, I had tried many other methods and this was the only one to work. And I just used a manual toilet auger I bought at Home Depot for about $15. Hopefully it works for you as well. Good luck. ♥️

thank you for your video but my sister went in the hardware store and the cashier told her not to buy any drain cleaner just put a whole bottle of dawn dish soap and let it sit for 45 minutes . well i put a whole bottle of dish soap in the tub drain and then i put boiling hot water and left it over night and my drain is clear. awesome just wanted to share

Wow... thanks for sharing this! I removed the overflow thing, poured in half a bottle of Dawn followed by some boiling water and plunged until it was foamy. 30 minutes my tub is empty! Amazing.

This just saved my bathtub! My spring snake didn't fit since there was a metal bar in the way so I used a flexible plastic hair snake and it completely unclogged and pulled out the hair in my drain. Thank you for sharing!

My wife and I were able to unclog our bathtub drain by using an auger first and then the plunger method last. Actually I believe the plunger method alone would have been sufficient due to the auger not pulling much hair out. We filled the tub about 1/4 water, then lightly pressed with the plunger about 3x and it was finished. Took a whole 3min and saved us $200+ easily. Also the type of plunger we used was a $4 plunger from Walmart. It had a longer plunger to it that the traditional plunger. Thanks for the video and hope this comment helps others where the auger doesn’t work.

Thank you😭😭 me and my hubby (we’re still teens) moved into our own apartment a few months ago, and like a week ago the tub clogged up, and I was too embarrassed to go to the office to tell them BC I had just dyed my hair red so the tub was full of red water 😂😭 but thank you!! I removed the top piece and used a snake. It didn’t work but soon as I clogged the air valve on top and used a plunger it worked thanks for the advice saved a lot of $$$.

Call Jake Plummer the football player. His nickname is Jake the Snake. If anyone can snake your drain successfully, the Snake can! Snaking the drain with a Plummer. Thank you!! I used a dollar store Plastic snake that I had on hand, and work just find. It was late and I said why not give it a try got all the hair out now the drain is working just fine. That thing had weeks clogged 😞

I use to take the spine out of two or 3 notebooks twist em together and snake with it. It works Great for clogs that are not too deep in the line.
