Still bass at Napatree Point in Watch Hill. I guess you could use sunfish as bait.

O by the way, there are still stripers in the Narrow River in Rhode Island. Last week I caught a keeper fish on a Slug-go

There used to be so many bluegill in Johnsons Pond if you threw a piece of Wonder Bread in the water they would boil to the surface like piranha.

What is the rod and reel combo you are using? That’s badass

Those bluegills are pretty big for a pond that small, nice fish

pretty beefy damn bluegill there as fish number one.. nice work. just use a bit smaller hook for those bluegill and sunfish, nothing wrong with a catch and cook on those either

Hey Jonny, are you sure that's not the same sunfish that you keep catching over and over? Anyways, at least you are still catching something in December.
@Fish-RI3 жыл бұрын
maybe once or twice but they varied on size, theres a lot of them in this pond I see them making little nesting grounds in the summer along the banks

Nice job. Why are you done with the salt for now?

I do chase holdovers but most of the migratory fish are gone by now, You'll hear reports of schoolies caught here and there but it slows down tremendously this time of year

Bluegill are delicious, I don’t know what the fascination with bass is about.
@Fish-RI3 жыл бұрын
I've heard they are good eaters. From a catch and release standpoint bass get much bigger and fight a lot harder than bluegill

They need more bass to keep the sunfish population down, difficult time of year for fishing. Time to get the ice fishing gear ready
@Fish-RI3 жыл бұрын
yea I was surprised at the lack of bass on this trip, I've actually never iced fished before looks fun though

Took a yak in there over the summer and killed it on topwater all along those banks. Probably wouldn't do it again though.
@Fish-RI3 жыл бұрын
dude I've always considered doing that, that must have been a pain in the ass though haha
@joenardolillo12683 жыл бұрын
@@Fish-RI did it with a little sit inside kayak. Had someone to push me into the water and drag me to the shore when i got out. Definitely would not try it with my hobie because If i went into that water I would probably have to quarantine for 14 days.

Bring those sunfish home and fry them up. Those were nice eating size fish that should've earned a spot as the guest of honor for dinner. They aren't called panfish for no reason, the flesh is all white.

not sure if I trust this pond water haha but maybe in a different spot I'll try some sunfish out
