I don't know if you will see this, but I have a 49sp I'm pulling the carb off of right now. It will idle, but bogs if given any throttle. Even if given full throttle it still idles but bogs severely. I bought mine for $50 too in this condition. Prior owner said it did this in the cut. Muffler is clean. Any ideas?

Hi I have a 49sp but there is only one lead going to the on off switch could you please tell me where the other one goes.Not sure myself as i could only find one wire. Kind Regards. Paul

Paul Austin-Clarke there is only one wire mine is plugged into the bottom lead.

@@The.sun.chaser The kill switch has two leads and there is only one wire hooked up to the bottom lead.

You might be able to retrofit one from another model. I have seen this done on an old STIHL.

Randy Bucking I have a 49sp in almost mint condition, I’m having problems with the bar luber right now, they way those saw were built is pretty amazing I love mine.
