There is hope in the ending. Hope for a true beginning. Terese's eyes are open. She isn't an inexperienced girl any longer. She has known the pain of love and has a scar to show for it. But the scar holds a love so matchless that finally she can meet Carol's full gaze on equal footing, finding it unnecessary to look away. They will be together again...as though for the first time and their knees will be unsteady for a very long time.

It doesn't matter one's sexual preference; the intention of the movie (like the director Todd Haynes and the screenwriter Phyllis Nagy stated in many interviews) is that of representing a love story, not a lesbian love, but love in the purest sense. It's about sincere and profound love between two people, that is however considered immoral by society. Personally, I think that this love story is something so beautiful, so profound and indefinable, that everyone can somehow relate to it 😊😍

Reading the book after watching the movie further deepened my love for it. It just gives SO much insight into the what Therese actually feels in all those moments, it's just so so beautiful. Todd Haynes did such a beautiful job directing the movie and I think Patricia Highsmith would've really loved it had she been alive to watch it.

Much of the music in this movie to me depicts feelings that are having to be hidden. The music isn't allowed to do more. It must be careful yet the music is uplifting in parts. These two women who meet, they must be careful. It is the right time for them both but in the wrong era. A wonderful movie.

Sometimes we think that true love only exists in fiction. The way Todd Haynes takes the film to show us that indeed from the inside can magically flourish a feeling between two people is wonderful. But without a doubt, Patricia Highsmith manages to transmit it through The Price of Salt that at least in the mind can exist ...

I am 100% straight but it appears only when watching Cate Blanchett I become gay. I dont know what's happening but there is something about Cate Blanchett that is so mesmerizing and ethereal, so full of charm, passion in the eyes and in the way she talks, moves..everything that truly drowns you to her so much it's impossible not to feel attracted to her. I dont know, she is just very rare gem (as woman, person, as actress).

This whole soundtrack gives me the feeling of that quote from Salinger, "Love is a touch and yet not a touch." And the whole movie, the love in the story, the interaction between Cate and Rooney somehow showed that too.

This is heavenly music.Another landmark along with shape of water.I read carter burwwell wikipedia....it appears he didnot get matching award & appreciation to his sweet melodies.I happened with me too I got dust instead of pearls or seashells....may be great music & chance to listen to it is my fortune or award.This one soothes the nerves.

As cenas mais lindas desse filme na minha opinião, foi a cena do momento que elas se conhecem. O olhar de uma para outra é a coisa mais apaixonante. A parte que a Carol fala que gostou do gorro da Therese e da uma piscada de olho é sensacional. A parte onde elas vão almoçar tbm é demais. A cena final é maravilhosa! Com apenas o olhar de ambas nós entendemos que o final delas foi feliz! Filme espetacular!! Por mais filmes como este, onde no final, o amor verdadeiro vence. Te amo cate Blanchett ❤
